JFK Lied, Cubans Died

Story at Big Peace.  Link here

With all the hoopla around the anniversary of the Kennedy-Nixon debates, it's worthy to look at how Kennedy was briefed before the debates and compare what he was told to what he actually said.

Then later compare what he said as a campaigner to what he did (or did not do) as Commander in Chief.

Random Acts of Kindness? LCDR Gordon

Random acts of kindness are always welcome when you're on the receiving end.  It's even nice to be on the giving end.  But rather than do "drive-by" kindness, why not plan a little bit and really make it count?

This might be compared to the difference between "spray and pray" and "one shot, one kill."

I have been humbled this week as some of the family of my former shipmate, LCDR Gordon have noted what I did in remembrance and made a connection to The Cliffs.

The simplest response is that honor demanded no less.  Deeds like his deserve to be remembered and honored.  And since that's all I know of him, I saw to it that this was taken care of.

It was a prayer of mine that this would be blessed in this way.  God answered this prayer and even allowed me a peek at the results and that's worth sharing.

Preamble to Fair Warning

I don't know how I missed this, but C.S. Lewis captures the essence of the Fair Warning to the Collectivists in just a few words.

I am adding this to the very front of the Fair Warning, and to the quotes section of The Cliffs.

Background:
The Last Battle is the last of the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis.

Tirian (good guy) hurled the Ape (deceiver/manipulator) into the darkness and through the door.  There is a terrible noise and light that terrifies all on the Narnian side of the door who hear it.  Farsight is the Eagle (another good guy) and has the best eyes of anything alive.

Farsight notices the face of Rishda Tarkaan (major bad guy) as Ape is thrown into the darkness beyond the door.  And based on this, Farsight realizes that Rishda Tarkaan is just as surprised and terrified as everyone else that Tash (their god) might really be behind the door.

The Quote:
"There goes one who has called on gods he does not believe in.  How will it be with him if they have really come?"

Many collectivists are just like Rishda Tarkaan, calling up a cult of personality that they don't really believe in.  How will it go with them if this cult of personality has really come.

Democratic Fear And Smear: As Predictable As Gravity

As September closes in, I'm thinking how predictable it would be for the Barry and the HusseinO's to stage an October Surprise for their own benefit.  I could just wait until November, let it happen and then proclaim how predictable it all was.  Or I could go right up to the edge of the Cliffs, look over, and offer a few possibilities for the October Surprise that all revolve around influencing the elections.  I'm not going to nail down specifics, just general principles that might be used and then applied in a a few scenarios that may stand alone or be combined to multiply the effects.

Fear and Smear is the primary weapon of the left and it is used often and in many arenas.  A meme is created out of thin air and the "press" dutifully reports whatever they are told to report.  For an illustration of how this works, let's go to the movie Chicago based on the musical of the same name.

Fear and smear is a tactic like shock and awe.  It's just the "how" of the "October Surprise."  Incite fear in the population.  Smear one group to isolate them.  The end game is to exploit the divide created in order to exercise and/or increase power.  Rinse.  Repeat.  Once you know this, then it's just a matter of figuring out where they're going to use it and how far they will go.

What's the real objective?  The real objective is to stay in power. Failing that, to do as much damage as possible prior to election chances of their opposition and to limit their ability to govern if they do win.

Possibilities:

1. Fake “N” word charges, swastikas, campaign sign vandalism, windows broken, etc.

2. Real live riot fight between SEIU thugnuts and free men.

3. ATF raid on isolated group.

4. Man-Caused Disaster on American soil.

5. Terrorist act on American soil committed by Domestic Terrorists.

6. ATF raid on lawful groups/people who happen to embarrass the hell out of the government.
7. False Flag or near-miss false flag of #4, 5.

8. Combination of any/all of the above leading to exercise of “Temporary Emergency Powers” that will unfortunately impact the timing of elections (and thus the outcome) in certain locations.

9. "Stimulate" like crazy.  The GOP pledged to leave "unspent" all remaining stimulus dollars in the slush fund.  The DNC will spend it all to their own political gain.

10. Promise to extend the Bush tax cuts in the lame duck session after election day.

Discussion:
#1 is all smear. It would probably draw a collective yawn from most. However, it could help to energize their base-especially if minority support sags.  This could also serve as a weather vane to gauge public reaction for future events.

#2 is mostly smear, but is not out of the question.  The outcome of such an event is by no means predictable.  If it's a question of numbers, the thugnuts could lose.  If it's a question of the willpower to commit violence, then the thugnuts usually win.  The problem with this one is that the thugnuts are almost guaranteed to throw the first punch, someone is almost guaranteed to have a videocamera, and the video is almost guaranteed to make it to Youtube and Breitbart in minutes. Killian documents, anyone?  The only way the left wins sympathy points is if the thugnuts don’t throw a punch.  Any takers on that bet?  Me neither. The SEIU’s motto ought to be, “Nobody beats us to the punch.”

Combining #1 and #2 is a possibility.  If there's enough #2, then #8 is also possible.

#3, all fear.  Similar to the way that terrorists always go after the lightly defended or undefended targets, this raid would be directed against a group of folks who are so isolated that few if any would help them.  (Think Hutaree)  This isolation also decreases the chance of a serious countermove-providing Leviathan with a bloodless conquest and the chance to dictate the narrative.  Since the Hutaree were captured without a shot being fired, they may be emboldened to up the stakes and do it again before election time.  It would also help if the group publicly proclaimed their plans to attack something or someone. If that's not factually available, then that's even better for the government because the claim can be made and the "proof" is part of an ongoing investigation that can't reveal anything other than insinuation and innuendo.  (Make it up and "seal" it up.)  In this scenario, the objectives overlap with 1 and 2.  Additionally, they could seek to build bridges with law and order RINOcorns and their followers since their own chances are for crap.  Getting a RINOcorn into office isn't as good as a Democrat, but it's better than letting a full-fledged opponent get elected because they'll hinder their own party more than they will yours.

#4 is Fear and exercise of power.  A Man Caused Disaster on American soil could grab everyone's attention-though it would not be surprising. HusseinO himself warned that we were in danger of an attack.  What would be surprising is a forceful and appropriate response from Obama.  The resulting wave of support would help the Pres__ent's polling numbers for a while and perhaps those of his party.  And surely the press would cover this around the clock-perhaps even without commercial interruption (i.e. campaign ads).  At the very least it would give their candidates an opportunity to change the subject.

#5 is fear, smear and the exercise of power.  This administration sees only no foreign enemies, only domestic ones.  So for almost any terrorist act that happens, they will be looking to find a domestic suspect very quickly, proclaim his guilt-I mean, person of interest-ness, and take him to jail.  Think Richard Jewell.

#6 But why grab just a man off the street when you could grab a target with value?  Why not really seize the moment and try to grab someone really important in their opposition-or even several someones?  Maybe combine this with a "showtime" raid against someone who obeys the law, but embarrasses the hell out of them?  In this way, Leviathan capitalizes on existing fear and tries to increase it.  The smear extends to the friends of whomever they arrest.  The hope is that their abuse of power will stand unchallenged.  The more valuable the target, the bigger the lie will be.  Again, reduce the chance of a serious countermove and justify more power exercised.  Don't miss this either, Leviathan would basically be daring this person's friends to stand up for him-to really, physically fight to free him.

A more devious version of this might be to play out #6, but do it in a manner that is non-showtime.  Use the other events to divert media attention, so that this is done largely under the radar.

#7 is fear, smear and the exercise of power.  If an actual terror attack doesn't happen as discussed above, a false flag or near-miss false flag event might.  Just as above, all that's needed is a couple of threads to tie it back to targets of choice to provide the thinnest patina of justification for a raid that can be directly linked to the event.  If Leviathan said that they had stopped a plot by a group to extinguish the sun, the press would report it.  No claim is too outrageous for them to make.  No claim is too ludicrous for the press to print.  Which means that no plot by them is too outrageous to be discounted.  Read some of what Mike Vanderboegh has written regarding the OKC bombing.

#8 Finally, a big enough act or accumulation of lesser events in a short enough time frame could allow the perfect excuse for the exercise of emergency powers-temporarily, of course.  I'm sure that they'll only need them through the election season and then drop them after that.  By the way, just what did Machoman Achybaconjihad (by the way, that's all mine-I don't want to see none of y'all using that on the Youtubes) talk with Louis Farrakhan about anyway?  Who else did he meet with?  Enquiring minds want to know.

#9 and 10 are just bribes and lies.  I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

One key for such the scenarios above is that they develop with lightning speed so as to outrun the internet.  Quickly demonstrate that damage has been done, but it’s under control, and the threat of imminent future attack is being vigorously addressed.  Project competence and trust onto the situation to justify the exercise of power and increase support.

As to where such an act might take place?  I'd say either somewhere that they perceive themselves to be very strong or their opposition to be very weak.  A Democratic stronghold (or RINOcorn district-same thing) or a very remote location.  Somewhere that reduces the likelihood of anyone influencing the outcome or quickly getting the real story out.

What to do?  First of all, be looking for it.  Be facing in the right direction.  Second, be prepared for the event itself.  Third, be prepared to get the truth out quickly.  Fourth, be prepared to act.  Get a kit, make a plan, be informed.  It's just like those Ready.gov commercials-except they leave off that whole TAKE ACTION part, huh?

Keep your cameras handy and charged up.
Keep your phone trees at the ready.
Keep your powder dry.

Review: Hawaii Five-NO

I watched about 20 minutes of last night's episode and this was plenty enough to tell me all that I need to know.

Briefly, McGarrett is haunted by the death of his dad.

Danno is from Jersey and needs to either button up the shirt, cinch up the tie and shave, or put on a hula shirt and go native.Chin Ho, the local was accused of being a dirty cop, but is not guilty.  Other cops won't speak to him-apparently out of a deep sense of Honor and all that.

His much younger and hotter cousin, Kono joined the force because of him.
On last night's episode, a man gets kidnapped by Bad Guys who have full-auto guns. One of them gets hit and escapes the scene, but does not exfil with the other Bad Guys and the kidnapped.

The popo figure this out and then quickly converge to a hotel where the video footage points and the blood trail leads. They go in, weapons drawn and find the elevator with blood marks. They get on and press the same button pressed by the bloodied hand. At one point in the elevator-with vacationers shared scitless, McGarrett checks his pistol. He racks the slide all the way back, looks into the chamber and then releases the slide to chamber a round. No round comes out, so I'm assuming the chamber was empty when he racked the slide.

The three amigos get to the roof top to find the Bad Guy and see a mass of blood. "Is he dead", Danno asks. "Not yet", McGarrett replies ominously. Back from commercial. Okay, they wake him up, try to question him, he's not playing ball. So they get him up and walking. McGarrett takes him to the edge and hangs him over by his legs so he can really interrogate him. "You had a gun, you came at me first, we wrestled, I sent you over the edge. Two cops will testify as witnesses." This is approximately what McGarrett tells The Bad Guy. "You can't do that, this isn't Guantanamo!", Danno objects. Whew! Thank God we can still beat that rented mule! Bush= evil. Presumably, they get the information they need and all is resolved. Ah, more Only One behavior. (More aggravation of my friend) "But he's a bad guy", the friend chimes in.

Problems:
  1. The cops have such a high sense of honor that they won't even talk to one accused wrongly of being dirty. Wow! Does it really work like that all the time? Maybe it's just an islander thing.
  2. The Hawaiian cop is riding his personal motorcycle to the hotel and has on a bullet proof vest, but no helmet. Shaka, brah! I was also amazed that there seemed to be so little traffic. This is Oahu…right?
  3. Checking the pistol in this manner seems wrong. I would have expected him to be carrying in condition 1, a round in the chamber, safety on. If you pull the slide all the way back, then you just ejected a live round and chambered another one. If you need to verify a round in the chamber, you don't have to pull the slide all the way back. (Not at all if the weapon has a round indicator) If you need to verify a round in the chamber, seems like you'd do that as soon as you unholster-not when you're in an elevator. If you're carrying loaded, but no round in the chamber, then it's a simple exercise, rack the slide and load. You don't need to visually check it. But maybe this is how the Only Ones do it. Of course this aggravates my friend trying to watch the show.
  4. "But he's a bad guy."
This last one deserves some discussion all on its own.
Watching the show, you can safely assume that the person they find bleeding from a bullet wound with a gun is indeed a bad guy who participated in the kidnapping. I will agree to that much.

But do the cops get to determine guilt or innocence in the field and execute judgment? Here's what broadcast TV looks like these days CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York, CSI Las Vagrants, NCIS, NCIS GITMO, NCIS San Diego, Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Law and Order criminal Intent, Law and Order Evil Racist Jaywalking Soccer Haters, Criminal Minds, Criminal Minds, 24, 48 hours, Cold Case, The Closer, The Mentalist, Castle, Boston Legal, Rizzoli and Isles, Judge Judy, Judge Mathis, Judge Joe Brown, SWAT, Nancy Grace, COPS, Lockdown, World's Deadliest Car Chases volumes 1-49 (with the world's most annoying narrator), Hawaii Five-No, Steven Seagull gets Sheriffy...but I digress.  If guilt presumed, is judgment justified? Well, just watch any of these and see how the cops behave.

If a cop can do this to a bad guy, then he'll do it to someone else later who isn't a bad guy. If it's not the cop's place do to it to a bad guy, then by doing it, doesn't that make the cop a bad guy? Isn't it precisely this failure to follow the laws that makes one a lawbreaker? If so, then it doesn't matter whether you're in a gang uniform or police uniform, you're a "bad guy". Though Danno draws the parallel between McGarrett's treatment of the Bad Guy and Guantanamo, I doubt that Danno turns him in (sorry I quit watching and I honestly don't know or care) or that McGarrett will suffer any consequences for his actions. And I'm sure the same guys who shunned the Hawaiian cop won't be shunning McGarrett. Just going out on a limb here.

The short story here is that Hollywood glorifies and justifies bad behavior by cops. A stranger who didn't know better would be hard pressed to watch TV shows and then watch/read the news and know which one is real and which one is not. Since most storylines on these shows are ripped from the police blotters, that shouldn't be much of a surprise. I can only assume that Hollywood is also taking the police violence straight out of the blotters as well. Further, since there's such overlap in the entertainment and news industry-not to mention TV shows themselves, let's just take the leap of imagination that this is intentional. Remember, we are talking about network programming here. Use the programming to condition the populace to accept this message:
  • Subjects must obey the popo.
  • If the subject doesn't obey, subject is a bad guy.

  • Cops are justified in doing violence on Bad Guys because they deserve it.
Can we take this a step further? I've seen a few commercials in recent weeks that carry this same theme of cops abusing authority and then treating the act as something humorous.

So cops committing theft and violence against the innocent is humorous and is okay as well. More programming folks. This is an appropriate time for an "I am the Slime" break. Yeah, I know, I posted it just a couple of weeks ago. Go ahead and watch it again.

Our founding fathers on the other hand had a different idea that I hold to.
  • Government is by the people and works for the citizens.
  • If the government doesn't obey the citizens, then they are the bad guys.
  • Citizens are justified in correcting the state of a disobedient government by any means necessary.

I'm the NRA!

New ad spotted for Chris Cox, Maximum Leader of the NRA-ILA.

Oh, and be sure to Trigger The Vote so you can be tough like Chuck.

Read WOG and WRSA posts as well.

D.C. turns to GPS to monitor young criminals

Story here
Now if they can just get around to tagging the following critters.
  • 435 members of the House
  • 100 members of the Senate
  • 9 Supreme Court Justices
  • 1 Pres__ent
And since we should have no expectation of privacy when we're in public, then neither should they.  Perhaps they could stream their real-time position on the internet.

Just saying...

Race and Ethnicity Maps

Eric Fischer has created a very interesting set of maps.  They basically locate race and ethnicity for a given city.

These are challenging to decipher unless you're already familiar with the layout of a city.  Overlaying the interstates onto these maps would have been really helpful.

It's a CW2 kind of thing in the same vein as "Know Thy Neighbor."

Worth your time to look and think.

The Wild Kingdom

Today, we will study the RINO.

RINOs have a single horn and walk on foor hooves.  They often wallow in the mud at the local watering holes.  But during election season, RINOs often undergo a drastic transformation.

They shed their hard political scales for a coat of white hair.  They slim down and instead of being bulky, they appear sleek and muscular.  Their horn even becomes slender.  Instead of being covered with mud, they then begin emitting an aura of light and a trail of rainbows.  In short, they go from being RINOs to Rainbow Pooping Unicorns (RPUs).  But to keep you the reader from becoming fooled by this, let's call them RINOcorns.

The rainbow trail is thought to be part of a ritual.  The multi-colored trail is meant to lead the electorate to follow the RINOcorn wherever he goes.  After the election season however, the RINOcorn quickly return to their RINO ways leaving the foolish followers directionless in the wilderness with predators all around them.

As with deer season, you may see these RINOcorns all over the countryside.  And similar to deer, RINOcorns can be paralyzed by oncoming headlights.  Typically, drivers will slow for deer in the roadway as they can do tremendous damage to their vehicles.  RINOcorns however, should be handled in exactly the opposite manner.

Anyone remember Death Race 2000?  Me neither.  I had to look up the plot:
In the year 2000 the United States has been destroyed by a financial crisis and a military coup. Political parties have collapsed into a single Bipartisan Party, which also fulfills the religious functions of a unified church and state. The resulting fascist police state, the United Provinces, is headed by the cult figure "Mr. President" (Sandy McCallum). The people are kept satisfied through a stream of gory gladiatorial entertainment, which includes the bloody spectacle of the Annual Transcontinental Road Race, depicted as a symbol of American values and way of life. The coast-to-coast, 3 day race is run on public roads, and points are scored not just for speed, but for the number of innocent pedestrians struck and killed. - Wikipedia (emphasis added)
Destroyed by financial crisis?  Check.
Political parties collapse into a single Bipartisan Party (Ruling Class)?  Check.
Performs functions of church and state?  Well, they do worship themselves.  I always thought of Meet the Press as televangelism for politicians who worship at the altar of government....like these guys!

Facist police state?  Hmmm, pretty close.
President as a cult figure?  Check.

This movie doesn't sound so fictional, does it?

In that vein, be on the lookout for this roadsign as you drive this fall.

RTC RALLY BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS. IT´S ON!

From Dennis III in Texas:
It's on ladies and gentlemen. I have the signed permit from the ¨Palo Alto National Battle Ground Park¨ here in front of me. The rally is to start at 9:00 am on Oct.30, 2010 and continues till 4:30 pm of that same day.

I have also spoken with Chief of Police Carlos Garcia of the Brownsville Police Department about Rules of Presentation for all Long arms. PLEASE NOTE BROWNSVILLE POLICE WILL BE ON SITE TO ENSURE THAT THE RULES ARE FOLLOWED AND PUBLIC SAFETY IS MAINTAINED AND TO ASSIST THE PARK RANGERS. These are the rules:

1. NO OPEN CARRY OF HANDGUNS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED UNDER TEXAS LAW. Also for any person coming from out of state Texas law prohibits that your handgun ¨prints¨ while you are carrying. Handguns may only be carried by CHL Holders and CONCEALED. I will be checking to see which if any states have reciprocity with Texas on concealed carry.

2. Long Arms (rifles, carbines, shotguns) are to be:

  • Un-Loaded
  • Chamber-flag
  • Breach open and secured
  • Safety ribbon that will be provided
  • Slung to the Rear, Muzzle Down if Possible
  • Loaded Magazines are to be carried to the side or away from said Long Arms
PLEASE NOTE ALL FIREARMS ARE TO BE INSPECTED BY RALLY MARSHALS TO ENSURE THAT SAFETY IS MAINTAINED.

3. Parking is limited to the paved parking areas of the park. The Park Supervisor has informed me that parking MAY be permitted to the paved area of the park roadway at a later date in the wider sections of the roadway.

4. There are motels in the area and I will update names locations with telephone numbers to these establishments after the weekend. If people should use these establishments and car-pool from these locations (recommended) to the rally site, all long arms are to be inside cases that you would normally use while traveling. Chief Garcia does not want us to cause a public panic at the motels or en-route to the Rally.

5. All TRASH AND DEBRIS WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE CLOSING OF THE RALLY. There is a dumpster on site at the park and the Park Supervisor has allowed us to use it and not requested we supply one for ourselves. As we may wish to do another Rally for 4-19-11 the real Patriot Day, the anniversary of Concord and Lexington your co-operation is appreciated and expected.

I wish to thank all of you that will be attending. If anyone knows of any pro-Constitutional speakers that would be able to attend and speak (without charging) please let me know how to contact them. They can also contact me the at Muster 4-19 site

Keep yer Powder Dry and God Bless the Republic and the State of Texas.

More Signage

If any of you are in the mood to do more than "trigger the vote", these might make worthy additions to any number of campaign signs for the Ruling Class this fall.  The aspect ratio is even pretty close to some shipping labels.

Just saying.....

Illegal Immigrants Ahead!

Of course it's not real.  But it ought to be.

American Rancher X

For a brief taste of what's going on at the border, read these two posts.

Here's Part 1, Part 2.  Read them both.
“Nobody can go out and do any work on this ranch alone. You always have to go out in pairs. And no one drives down the road you just did, it’s too dangerous.”

I began surveying the land around us, myself.

“There’s a dead body that’s been laying out over past that hill, too, for awhile now.”

Grizz and I looked at each other, and then he spoke up again, this time asking a key question: “How do you see all this ending, X?”

“There’s a bloodbath coming, and everybody knows it.”

Like cross-hairs on a guided missile system, my mind again locked onto Ramadi, and onto just how wrong it was that this man’s home had degenerated to the point where the two places bore comparison. His birthright as an American certainly wasn’t this, anymore than anyone who fought in Iraq deserved to come home to an America that was being steered by its leadership into this.
Read both.

How it is that drug cartels can operate with such impunity on American soil?  They can only do this if they are allowed to.  Refer back to the CW2 cube.  The connection has to be there, but it's being made outside the cube.  The rancher hints at this in part 2.

Again, why make such a connection?  To put pressure on the center from more than one axis.  As with the Biker war that was averted, or any other problem that arises, your government is choosing a winner in the conflict.  Worse, that winner is not, "We The People".  Worse still, the winners they select will only get stronger and be able to inflict more damage and destruction on We The People.  It doesn't matter whether it's bankers through TARP, Unions over secured investors at Chrysler, Pagans over Hell's Angels, New London over Kelo, CFC over incandescent, 2 gallon flush over 5 gallon flush, or TSA over your clothing.  Whenever this government makes a choice, We The People continually lose.

The CW2 cube could always explode, but there is also the possibility of implosion.  It's just a matter of who is setting the shape charges and which way they're pointed, right?

It's also worth remembering that an implosion of a critical mass can set off a prompt critical chain reaction.  When that happens, the same people who claim power over the sea levels will be powerless to do anything to stop, slow, control, or mitigate the damage from such a reaction.

Which way are you facing?

Xo

This is the gift that keeps on giving. The pony that just keeps sprinting. The Presidential Vacation that just keeps...well, you get the picture.

As background:
I noted a story regarding the challenge to the Voting Rights Act in Shelby County, Alabama in this post and this one.

I also noted that an attorney named Xochitl Hinojosa was "defending" the government's right to unequally restrict some people while not doing so to others according to Section V of the Voting Rights Act. And, I had some fun with the name.

Anonymous left this comment this morning:
wait...she has a funny name, so she must be here to take your rights away? You haven't heard of her name (actually somewhat common in Latin America), so it must be fake?

It must be hard to be afraid of everyone who isn't white, Christian, and named "Smith" or "Brown." In a world with all kinds of people, that's a lot to be afraid of!

Dear Anon-if that is your real name...

Had you read the previous post, the story about the VRA, or the implications, then you'd know that Xochitl Hinojosa is not trying to take anyone's rights. The government has already done that. She's trying to prevent those rights from being restored. Unlike some, when I turn on the smartass, I at least try to know something about the subject matter.

Anonymous, you sure do have a funny name. Are you trying to take my rights away? You'd better watch out that I don't trigger the vote and unleash my inner Chuck Norris! Why the next thing you know, I might register to vote!

It must be hard to be afraid of the November elections knowing the force 10 septic storm that the overreach of your overlord has stirred up. That's nothing though, I mean seriously, if a frog farts in a tornado, who hears right? I'm certainly not expecting the elections to change anything-why should you? You want real fear? Consider this:
  • What happens when Americans of every race and creed, every religion and background unite in the realization that it's not Liberal vs. Conservative, the country class vs. the ruling class?
  • What happens if the center of the CW2 cube decides that it's themselves vs. the corners and further decides to act upon that?
  • What is the ultimate end of collectivists who continue to lead the country down this path of madness? Have you read the Warning to the Collectivists? Conflict or no conflict, win or lose, it's ugly for the collectivists.
  • In a world with all kinds of people, the ones you should be most concerned about aren't people like me, but those overreaching overlords who worship themselves, offer me as their sacrifice today and will offer you tomorrow.
Nighty, night.

P.S. My real name is Brxxxxflapbaoahihwhnomama Ulluluhatusiboqqqqqrakqkbaohgoaeooptrnem-I'll make fun of anybody's name I damn well please.

Obama goes to church...

And hundreds of Washington liberals knelt on their prayer rugs (pointed towards O-bow-ma) and prayed to him.

Oh, I'm sure that's not what really happened.  But the fact that this is news tells you that Pres__ent Obama going to church is a rare occurrence.

Civil Disobedience Has Started Against Congressman Bob Etheridge

You remember Congressman Bob "Who are you?" Etheridge right

It remains my most sincere and earnest hope that the good people of NC-2 will detach this leech from the bloodstream of our tax dollars and cast his political career into the latrine fire with the rest of the waste.

From Randy's Right, it appears that some folks in NC-2 really don't like Etheridge and have used his signs to display said dislike.  Story here

I'm only surprised it took this long. Personally, I'm partial to delivering a message rather than just splattering paint.
  • Something direct like putting the Obama "O" right in the "o" in BOB.
  • Or maybe, "This politician bought and paid for by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act" with the cute little logo.
  • Or even more direct and personal, if someone put "WHO ARE YOU?!" on every BOB sign.
But since I don't live in NC-2, I'll leave that for others to decide.

One commenter at Randy's Right is concerned about properly using civilized disobedience like MLK, Thoreau, Gandhi, etc.

I dropped my laser-guided munitions as such:
Generally, civilized people don’t grapple with students asking them a simple question either.

Be glad it was only the sign. The original tea parties addressed property, not people. But then there were tar parties that addressed the King’s people instead of his property. Through their own actions, people like Etheridge have spent all of the tolerance and patience of civilized people and yet arrogantly expect to be treated in a civilized manner. When that tolerance has expired, people will be addressed instead of property.

This is not a threat, not a call to action, not an endorsement, not a warning or a prediction. It is all settled history that has happened before. People like Etheridge either don’t remember or don’t care and this time it will happen to them.
I tried to paste in a link to the Warning to Collectivists

Since Gandhi was mentioned, I remembered Mike's thoughts:
Had the Japanese got as far as India, Gandhi's theories of "passive resistance" would have floated down the Ganges River with his bayoneted, beheaded carcass. -- Mike Vanderboegh.

The way that people like Etheridge behave make it clear that we're not dealing with moral men with whom we merely disagree.  We're dealing with tyrants.  History has also shown us that you can't beat something (tyranny) with nothing (passive resistance).  If America had been exclusively populated with Thoreau-attitudes in 1775, then we'd be Canada today.  Which way are you facing...eh?

5% - Crazy Conflation

You know, I really did try to read this column and get fired up. I really did. But here's the real meat of what this unnamed columnist is saying:
  1. "We're jealous of Terry Jones' church." They probably have more members than the NYT has subscribers. Perhaps that's why the press is drowning in red ink and even advocating for Big Government to come and save them.

  2. "We're jealous of the impact others have." Thinking on the Koran burning and the armed rallies for a minute let's seriously consider this:
    1. RTC 1 drew about 50 people on the banks of the Potomac. It drew INTERNATIONAL media coverage.
    2. A small church with about 50 members sets out to burn a Koran and it draws INTERNATIONAL attention.
    3. The last time the NYT was actually news was during the Jayson Blair fiasco.
    4. The left has yet to grasp 4GW. TDB.
  3. "We don't agree with some people and rather than trying to deal in facts, we'll lump them all together and call them all crazy." There, everything's good. 9/11 hijackers = Terry Jones = Armed Americans = 5% of the population = Crazy.

"To overcome of our enemies we must have our own socialist militarism. We must carry along with us 90 million out of the 100 million of Soviet Russia's population. As for the rest, we have nothing to say to them. They must be annihilated." Grigory Zinoviev 1918 – Wikipedia
The math is different, but Zinoviev's comment sums the attitude of the unnamed columnist. 5% of us are just throwaways to her.  By the way, if the feeling is mutual, who has the guns?  Just saying.

As a parallel to Godwin's law, I propose this one, "Whenever a liberal can't explain reality, they simply chalk it up to everyone being crazy." Okay, okay, that's a trick. Liberals default to the crazy explanation all the time because they are incapable of
explaining reality.

I could have tried to go all logical on this columnist. To what end? I'd have spent days correcting all her misrepresentations, false associations, and conflation. Who needs it? Besides, all the medical studies I read say that all of the crazy people become liberal journolists for big newspapers and read child porn on their computers at work. Don't ask me to reveal my sources though, my principles are spotless and pure and I just can't do that.

I will take on just one factual point. The unnamed columnist asserts that there is a crazy 5% who carry machine guns (translated from liberal speak, "machine gun" = "any gun") to political demonstrations to make a point about the Second Amendment. If she's right, then that represents 15,000,000 machine gun owners. So now for a few pucker factor 10 questions that I'll leave hanging;

Liberals constantly assert that America cannot simply deport 12 million illegal immigrants, so then what exactly do they think they can do with 15 million crazy machine gun owners?

Precisely.

Nothing.

You can fart and fall back in it, unnamed NYT columnist.

P.S.
What if the real number of totally sane gun owners who would take action is much higher than 15 million? What if in the wake of a direct assault by the government they develop their own central command and control of the entire force?

On This Date In History: 9-17-78

Anwar Sadat signed his own death warrant with adherents of "The Religion of Peace".  These are more commonly known as the Camp David Accords signed by Israel and Egypt.

As a result of the Camp David Accords
  • Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat shared the Nobel Peace Prize (but not poor Jimmy Carter)
  • Egypt recognized Israel
  • The Arab League expelled Egypt
  • Israel returned the entire Sinai peninsula to Egypt
  • A fatwa was issued against Sadat
  • Sadat was assassinated on October 6, 1981
According to Tala'at Qasim, ex-head of the Gama'a Islamiyya interviewed in Middle East Report, it was not Islamic Jihad but the Islamic group (al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya) that organized the assassination and recruited the assassin (Islambouli). Members of the Group's 'Maglis el-Shura' ('Consultative Council') were arrested two weeks before the killing, but they did not disclose the existing plans and Islambouli succeeded in assassinating Sadat. - wikipedia
On 6 October 1981, the month after the crackdown, Sadat was assassinated during the annual victory parade held in Cairo to commemorate Egypt's crossing of the Suez Canal.  ... Sadat was protected by four layers of security, and the army parade should have been safe due to ammunition-seizure rules. - wikipedia
Those darn, pesky man caused disaster people.  Why don't they follow our ammunition seizure rules!?

I deliberately omitted the punchline of the previous quotes.  The fatwa itself was issued by the leader of Maglis el-Shura.  A man named Omar Abdel-Rahman. You might know him better as "the blind sheik", the man at the head of the WTC bombing in 1993.
Abdel-Rahman was issued a tourist visa to visit the US despite his name being listed on a US State Department terrorist watch list. Rahman entered the United States, in July 1990, via Saudi Arabia, Peshawar, and Sudan.

He traveled widely in the United States and Canada. Despite the U.S. support for the mujahideen in Afghanistan, Abdel-Rahman was deeply anti-American and spoke out against it, safe in the knowledge that he was speaking Arabic and unmonitored by any law enforcement agency. He issued a fatwa in America that declared lawful the robbing of banks and killing of Jews in America. His sermons condemned Americans as the "descendants of apes and pigs who have been feeding from the dining tables of the Zionists, Communists, and colonialists". He called on Muslims to assail the West, "cut the transportation of their countries, tear it apart, destroy their economy, burn their companies, eliminate their interests, sink their ships, shoot down their planes, kill them on the sea, air, or land".

Preaching at three mosques in the New York City area, Abdel-Rahman was soon surrounded by a core group of devoted followers that included persons who became responsible for the World Trade Center 1993 bombings. One of Rahman's followers, El Sayyid Nosair, was linked to the assassination of Israeli nationalist Rabbi Meir Kahane, founder of the Jewish Defense League. He was subsequently acquitted of murder but convicted on gun possession charges. - wikipedia
The reason this is significant should be obvious.  Although the blind sheik was clearly approving of the assassination of Sadat, he was acquitted and expelled from Egypt.  He eventually made his way to America-entering the country in 1990 despite being on a State Department terrorist watch list.  He issued a fatwa on American soil against Americans.  At mosques in the New York city area, he worked with people who plotted to destroy the World Trade Center the first time.  Put another way, the blind sheik and his friends plotted the destruction of the World Trade Center towers at mosques that may have been within sight of those towers.

So explain to me again why we're still supposed to tolerate a Ground Zero Mosque?

There can be no negotiation, retreat, or surrender.  Ever.

Another One Rides The Bucks

As regular Cliffdwellers know, I have a knack for satire and parody.  In the context of our current situation, I call it "Doomer Humor".

Today at the League of Evil, another VP announced his retirement.  There have been a lot of those in the second half of this year.

My immediate response is, "Another one bites the dust."

A parody was quickly written.  No, this isn't really true-the best stuff writes itself.

Warning: Set your drink down now.

Without further adieu,
Another One Rides The Bucks

Things are looking down Wall Street. The DOW is way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of feet, shuffling out the do’
Are you ready? Hey, are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the VPs run with a bag of money, Yeah

Chorus
Another one rides the bucks
Another one rides the bucks
And another one gone
And another one gone
Another one rides the bucks
Hey, we’re gonna get the screw
Another one rides the bucks

How do you think we’re gonna get along without you when you're gone?
You took me for everything that I had and my savings are all gone
Are you happy? Are you satisfied?
Can your bucks beat the MZBs?
Out of the doorway the VPs fly to the easy street, (Look out)

Chorus

HEY
Oh, take it
Ride the Bucks
Ride the Bucks yeah
Hey

Another one rides the bucks
Another one rides the bucks, oh
Another one rides the bucks, hey, hey
Another one rides the bucks, heeeeey
Oh, scoot out

There are plenty of ways you can hurt a company and bring it to the ground
You can beat ‘em, you can cheat ‘em
You can treat ‘em bad and leave ‘em when they’re down
But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you
I'm prepping for the doom to be
When the bucks go bust and the bullets fly, you VPs work for me.  Oh yeeeah

Chorus

Scoot it
Hey
Alright

Plot for Biker War averted

Your tax dollars at work.  Story here.
Two undercover federal agents infiltrated the violent Pagans biker gang and smashed a plot to kill rival Hells Angels members with homemade grenades, authorities said Wednesday.

Nineteen Pagan members — including a 70-year-old man — and associates were rounded up in coordinated, early-morning raids in Long Island, New Jersey and Delaware. An explosive device packed with nails and 34 guns was seized.

During the 21-month investigation dubbed "Operation On the Road Again," one of the two U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents was inducted into the secretive gang.

Takeaways:
  • What, you couldn't bust them both?
  • 21 months!?  You mean that you couldn't find enough to roll up the organization before now?  We are talking about a gang, right?
  • Had the FBI done nothing, then the two gangs would have eliminated scores of each other-thereby making the streets safer for all of us.
  • Instead, your federal government has officially chosen sides with the Hells Angels.
  • Worse, your federal tax dollars were used to fund the investigation.
  • Your tax dollars also paid for a member of the ATF to join the Pagans.  (Or did that work the other way around?  Since I'm paying the bills, it's a fair question to ask who the real gang is here.)
  • I wonder if the ATF is now authorized to wear official Hells Angels patches on their jackets?  Or is it just this one guy?
  • Having "saved" the Hell's Angels from a war, it would seem that the gang is now in the government's debt.  You reckon that chit will ever be called in?
  • You reckon that the remaining Pagans would take revenge on the ATF if given the opportunity?
  • Consider how this kind of action by fedgov will play out in the future, polygonal battlespace and CW2 cube that WRSA, Bracken, Robb and others often discuss.  Remember what I said about connections being made from the corners outside the cube.  I still maintain that connections made outside the space of the cube are out of sight and are being used to attack the middle on more than one axis.
  • How many other "investigations" like this exist where Leviathan is picking and choosing winners and losers?  And how big will that impact be on the CW2 cube?
Which way are you facing?

Rock Hill, South Carolina Water Wars

The city wants to annex, the residents say no.  City threatens to shut off water.  Story here.

What are free folk to do?  Maybe they should unleash their Inner Norris and register to vote.

They could always incorporate as their own city and fight off annexation in this way.  I suppose individual residents could always drill their own well and tell the city to bugger off if they shut off the water.

One commenter really hit it on the head.
Kahn wrote on 09/16/2010 02:15:12 AM:

How to keep your water on 101:

1. put on gloves. Go out to meter
2. Open lid.
3. verify that meter is on.
4. Fill with 6 bags of quick setting fiber reinforced concrete, add H2O.
5. Close lid.
6. Laugh at city lackey trying to shut off your water.
7. When confronted, act dumb and blame neighborhood kids.
(even better, do the whole area this way)

Plan "B":
1. Find city council member most supporting annexation.
2. Cover their house / yard with signs calling them a communist/ socialist/ Marxist/ tyrant ect.

Plan "c":
1. Purchase non-traceable Trac Phone cell phone
2. Use phone to "shut down" council meetings (use your imagination, just don't call from near home and remove the battery when not in use)

Plan "D":
1. Send people to city council meetings.
2. Pull fire alarm as meeting begins.
3. When everyone returns, do it again.
4. Bring meetings to a standstill.

When you can't fight city hall, sometimes you should just harass them b/c civil disobedience DOES work. Enough people messing with one or two people is enough of make them paranoid or even drive them crazy. You can drive them crazy enough to just give up.

This is nothing but overbearing local government removing the property rights of the individual do they can increase their tax revenue.
The management monkey might say, "Why not do all four!?"

Self-Indulgence

FROM: CINCUSNAVZANE
TO: ALL FREEFOR

YOU ARE ORDERED TO CONTINUE THE CARPET BOMBINGS UNTIL THE WILL AND EFFECTIVENESS OF RINO FORCES IS BROKEN, OR THEY SURRENDER UNCONDITIONALLY AND YIELD FULL SUPPORT TO OUR MISSION.

OP AREA UNRESTRICTED.

EXPECT HEAVY FLAK AND RESISTANCE AS AN INDICATION OF PROXIMITY TO TARGET.  IF POSSIBLE, CLEAR FLAK AND MISSILE SITES TO ALLOW FOR ADDITIONAL SORTIES AND REDUCED LOSSES.

BZ!  KEEP IT UP, AL III SENDS.

Do RINOs realize that the GOP is now the third party?  (Or is that, "turd" party?  Whatever.)

Finally, a real man might do this dirty work himself.  Self-indulgence is sending your female staffer out to say that you won't lend your support to the person who beat you in a primary.

I wonder also if they realize the difference between tea parties and tar parties?  Tea parties only addressed property.  Tar parties addressed government officials.

Mike Castle, bitter clinger

I wonder if they realize just how close we are to being all out of earl grey?

More Self-Indulgence

In this WaPo article, a telling quote:
"I'm sad to say the Delaware primary results tonight are straight out of Harry Reid's dream journal," said prominent Republican strategist Mike Murphy of the O'Donnell win.
So....you've been reading Harry Reid's dream journal?  More palantir watching.  I guess there's a reason why there seems to be so little difference between Democrats and Republicans.

later...
"This shows that conservative energy at the grassroots is at tidal wave levels," said Vin Weber, a former Minnesota congressman and GOP lobbyist. "It may well cost us the Delaware Senate seat, but the same phenomenon will help Republicans, particularly in House races in November."

I was thinking more a tsunami.  In the open ocean, the wave doesn't rise to enormous levels.  It's only when it reaches the shore that it swells to mammoth proportions.  Novemeber is the shore line, Vin.

later...
"We congratulate Christine O'Donnell for her nomination this evening after a hard-fought primary campaign in Delaware," said National Republican Senatorial Committee executive director Rob Jesmer in a terse statement released after the race was called.

The Delaware result is also a major blow to Republicans' hopes of winning back the Senate majority this fall. To do so, the GOP needs a net gain of 10 seats, which, with Delaware now likely to favor Democrats, means that Republicans need to close to a clean sweep in states like California, Wisconsin and Washington.

I've got an idea!  Rather than wallowing in self-indulgence and pity because your guy lost a primary race, why don't you get up off your asses and put your efforts into getting O'Donnell elected?  You say it will be tougher to get O'Donnell elected.  Then you don't have a moment to spare, do you?

And by the way, if she doesn't win in November, then the first round of blame belongs to you party hacks who withheld your full and complete support for her.  If the climate is right for a GOP pick-up in this seat, then you'd better pull out all the stops to win the race.  As many times as you in the party apparatus have expected voters to swallow their principles and accept whatever electable candidate you trot out there, it's refreshing to see the shoe on the other foot.  Now get up off your asses and get to work.

O'Donnell defeats Castle

With 98 percent of the primary vote tallied across Delaware, Christine O'Donnell is defeating U.S. Rep. Mike Castle in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate.

In unofficial returns, O'Donnell has 53.2 percent of the votes tallied; Castle has 46.8 percent.
Story here.

Thoughts:
  • Hooray for self-indulgence!!!
  • Perhaps Castle can still run in his old Congressional district-sort of like Lieberman did in 2000 being Gore's VP candidate and a candidate for US Sentate as a fallback.  You know...just in case.
  • Failing that, perhaps Castle can try his hand at some honest work.
  • Day of Decision, RINOs.  You failed to lead.  Will you follow?  Are you in, or are you out?  Are you hot or cold?

Praxis: Repacking M1 Ammo

In the right hand column, I have added a link to a praxis page posted at The Cliffs.  As I have others I'll put them there.  In this way, they'll always be handy.

Enjoy the praxis.

Krauthammer: Self-Indulgence

Charles Krauthammer has a few thoughts about those endorsing Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.  Link here.  He's going to get both barrels from me on the other side.

Krauthammer: The Palin endorsement, I think, is disruptive and capricious.  Bill Buckley had a rule that he always supported the most conservative candidate who was electable, otherwise the vote is simply self-indulgence.

Baier: Now Jim DeMint, from South Carolina, also endorsed Christine O'Donnell.

Krauthammer: equally capricious and irresponsible. I'm not sexist on this. It's a big mistake. …

Dear Charles:

I saw the video, heard your remarks.

Now you hear this:

No more compromise.  No more equivocation.  No more dilution.  No more weaseling.  No more pro-gun control.  No more pro-abortion.  No more Olympia Snowes.  No more Arlen Sphincters.  No more Susan Collinses.  No more Larry "wide stance" Craigs.  No more Duke Cunninghams.  No more Bushes.  No more McCains.  No more Viagra Conservatives who need "help" to stay true to principle.  No more empty holsters.  No more negotiation.  No more retreat.  Not one step back!

You show me a "conservative" who can't vote down on Elena Kagan and I'll show you self-indulgence.

You show me a "conservative" who can't vote down on Amnesty and I'll show you self-indulgence.

You show me a "conservative" who proposes Campaign Finance Reform and I'll show you self-indulgence.

You show me a "conservative" who supports Cap and Trade and I'll show you self-indulgence.

You show me a "conservative" who talks principles and votes pragmatism and I'll show you self-indulgence.

Following your logic, it's clear why the GOP nominated Dede Scazzofazzo for NY-23.  How did she do in that race anyway?  It's clear why the entire GOP apparatus was mobilized time and again through the last few decades to support Benedict Arlen in his primary challenges in Pennsylvania.  And it's also clear why the GOP has been led by Viagra conservatives in purple pimpstriped suits.  They are only interested in connecting to pocketbooks and not people-and certainly not principle.

In case no one told you this Charles, the age of Bill Buckley is over.  We're dealing with people who make clear with their every act that they intend to destroy America.  Presumably the British should also have voted for Chamberlain over Churchill.  I mean they were both from the same party and Chamberlain having been elected as Prime Minister was clearly electable while Churchill had been in a political exile.  Oh, and clearly Buckley's "wisdom" must have rubbed off on his son Christopher who endorsed Obama in the last Presidential election.

Pray tell, what is your stance on the self-indulgence of people like Charlie Crist who-beaten in a primary race then reneges on his pledge to remain in the GOP and instead run for US Senate as an independent-thus splitting the vote?  What about Lisa Murkowski who flirted with doing likewise to retain her birthright to the US Senate seat in Alaska?  Or how about the self-indulgence of the aforementioned Benedict Arlen?  (I'm still laughing about that one.)

Let's take a brief diversion to Middle Earth for a comparison and contrast of leaders:
Denethor is the steward of Gondor charged only with keeping the kingdom until the king rerturns.  But he has looked too many times into the palantir (seeing stones) and seen precisely what the eye of Sauron has wanted him to see.  For this reason, Denethor is defeatist in his attitude and though he sees doom coming his way, he does little to prepare for it.  Denethor's end is a direct result of this defeatist end.

Theoden, king of Rohan is under the spell of Saruman and is "counseled" by Grima Wormtongue.  Theoden is my favorite character in Lord of The Rings. Maybe it's the change that Theoden goes through.  From a compromised, controlled leader in the palm of the enemy, he regains his strength, regains his purpose, and regains his honor.  You see iron will of Theoden come through in that he will fulfill his oath, defend his people, and regain his honor at any cost.  In the movie especially, you get the sense that Theoden knows what it will cost.  One of his captains says to him, "We do not have the strength to defeat the armies of Mordor." "No", he agrees. Then he utters perhaps my favorite line in the entire 4,508,151,225 pages of The Lord Of The Rings.  "But we shall meet them in battle nonetheless."

Denethors like Krauthammer are overcome with a defeatist attitude that victory isn't possible so we'd better settle for tactical retreats and peace in our time.  It is people like this that sacrifice great for the sake of good.  Oh, and just for disclosure Charles, exactly what did you see when you looked into the palantir?  Seriously, what did you and HusseinO talk about in your January 2009 dinner with him and other like-minded, empty holstered, Viagra conservative pundits?  Or did you think we'd forgive and forget that?

Theodens like Christie O'Donnell are willing to risk defeat in pursuit of victory.  I believe that the surge of the Tea Parties in our day is similar to the last charge of the Rohirrim at the armies of Mordor assailing Minas Tirith.  If the charge fails, then we're all doomed.

Deneth-sorry, Charles, what you are saying is that while you blue-blooded RINOS expect people to swallow their principles (again) to vote for your pragmatism in September, you will take your pragmatism and go home before you'll vote for their principles in November (or any other time for that matter).  Well here's what I say to that:

Pretty please.  I dare you wussies to do it.  Please show us your true colors so that we would know your deeds and could know that you either for us or against us.  I wish you bastards would show us whether you are hot or cold.

In case no one told you this Charles, had the GOP upheld their oath and did their jobs in 2001 when they controlled the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives, then we wouldn't be in this fucking mess now. You coddle them for failing to lead and condescend to those who would have them get out of the way so that real leaders might replace them.  You sir have earned a trip to the cone of shame.

I'm Alvie D. Zane and I approved this message.

End The War On Drugs

Since HusseinO is in the mode of withdrawing from battles he perceives that we're not winning, I propose an orderly withdrawal from The War On Drugs. How many trillions have been poured down this hole?  And yet the drug trade grows.

Knowing that you can't beat something with nothing, I have an elegant and simple solution that is almost certain to succeed.  It's worked many times in the past.  It will work this time.  We only need to think about this from a business perspective.  From a pure business perspective, what does government have to offer?  Rules, regulation, restriction and recession.  That's it.

Let the federal government regulate the production, distribution, transportation, sale, and use of all drugs which are now illegal.

Show me an industry or institution that has gone (or is going) down the tubes and I'll show you federal "help" that preceded the death spiral.
  • Banks? Community Reinvestment Act.  Repealing Glass Steagall.
  • Electric Utilities?  EPA (I wonder how that Smart Grid thing will help us?  Hmmmmm.)
  • The Medical Profession?  Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare
  • Automobile manufacturers?  CAFE standards.
  • Nuclear Power?  Yucca Mountain.
  • Education?  Department of Education. Pell Grants
  • Savings?  The Fed.  (Thanks to the rock bottom prime rate, what interest rate is your bank offering you on your savings?)
  • Communications?  The FCC.
One reason that crime syndicates work so well in tough times is that they are used to operating outside of the law.  The lack of a compliance organization increases their need for operational security, but it also increases their profit margin by eliminating the overhead cost of compliance.  We don't need no stinking Sarbanes-Oxley!!

Just imagine the sloth, incompetence, ineptitude, and surly attitude of the civil service applied to regulating those previously illegal drugs.  I give you this sign as an example:
"We am so smart.  S-M-R-T!"
Imagine the EPA regulating all those poppy fields and coca farmers.  Imagine how the cost of production would rise.  And just to make certain that the chain of custody is maintained; let's make all of those drugs delivered exclusively by the US Post Office. (When it absolutely positively has to be there sometime within the next month or so.) Just think of all the waste and fraud that the government can introduce into an industry that we'd all like to see choked off.  The US government could bring the whole industry to a halt just from their sheer weight.  Now there's some change you can friggin' BELIEVE in!

But it doesn't stop there.  Imagine the righteous, principled outrage when all these, ahem, medical marijuana users will feel knowing that their marijuana was produced by Big Ganja on a farm owned by EEEVil ADM instead of organically and naturally by like-minded, sandal wearing, herbivores and Gaia worshippers?  Many might protest and quit cold turkey simply because drugs have become part of the culture rather than counterculture.  (Like some biker outlaws must feel about many yuppies who bought a Harley Davidson Fatboy with their HELOC loan in the last decade and now ride around with their "Mount Hampton Shallowford Shirestead Pointe!" Home Owner's Association patch on their leather vest.)

But it doesn't stop there. Can you imagine the FDA warning label on a pack of crack?  To get some idea, go grab the latest Reader's Digest.  Rip every single page that has a medical ad on it.  How many pages of disclaimer do you have? I did this once and it totals up to some 20-30% of the volume of each edition. That entire volume is representative of the kind of disclaimer that will be on every package of crack, meth, cocaine, heroin, etc.  And of course, the user would have to read the entire thing and sign it before they can have their drugs.  (Try to imagine druggies reading something like this.  Buzzkill epitomized.  Now that's what I call "speed-reading"!)

But it doesn't stop there. Once Big Ganja takes over, then users will have someone with deep pockets to sue just like they did for Big Tobacco.  "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client had no way of knowing that eating a handful of roofies would make him the vegetable he is today. It is the deception of Big Ganja that is to blame for his condition."  At least users can go and sue their suppliers for damages instead of passing the costs on to the rest of us who know better.  Of course when Big Ganja loses or has to settle, the money has to come from somewhere.  You guessed it, they'll raise prices again.

On the downside, they'll start out by saying that the only the users will pay for all this regulation, but we know this is bull. Your taxes will have to go up to make this happen (probably an increase in the social security tax-something hidden that doesn't require a vote in Congress).  There's a whole new expansion of government regulators and nannies that will need to be paid.  There's new rules to be written.  New procedures to be developed.  New problems the government must create.  It would be "unfair" to disproportionately spread this burden to the "least fortunate" among us (i.e. those who actually buy and ingest this shit).  Libs will of course expect you to "give back to your community" and all that.  (How come we never see bumper stickers that say, "Give back to your community. Shoot a drug dealer.")  They'll promise a transition to where these drugs are "self-sustaining" in that they pay for the regulation they require, but that will never happen either.  It is always the productive who pay.

And when the aforementioned lawsuit goes to court, you know that they will find a jury of 12 "peers" who drive around with styrofoam cups of hot coffee between their legs that will find in favor of the poor addict and against Big Ganja.

On a serious note, imagine the boost for freedom as no-knock raids and civil forfeitures end and police officers start being peace officers again.  Rather than being a militarized assault team ready to bash in your door and shoot your dog, many SWAT team members might have to find honest and productive work.  I imagine that for many, their transition will be a seamless exchange of one set of government acronyms for another.
