Cliff Collapses, a Homeowner Begs for Help
Story here
Dear Homeowner,
Being a Cliff Dweller like yourself, I have heard your cry for help.
And I do have an answer for you-though it may sound trite.
Be free.
Fix your problem and move the hell on.
You need to repair and stabilize the cliff to save your house? Then be free and do it. You've been waiting for a decade on the government to allow you to do what you need to on your own property.
I noticed also that the city has decreed that thou shalt obtain a permit just to approach your property from the beach to actually make the repairs.
But let's make sure we've got the right problem in mind:
Sincerely yours,
Alvie D. Zane
P.S. I'm embedding a song, for your state:
P.P.S. What help if any have your family, neighbors, tribe, collective offered in the way of resolving this problem? (that would be with the cliff, the government, or your residence in the Californian S.S.R.) See I'm thinking that with sufficient quality and quantity of support, at least one of the problems identified could have already been solved. I'm also thinking that since you're still needing a permit 10 years later, perhaps you're not really serious about solving the problem.
By the way, I've probably violated the delicate sensibilities of the Forces Of Nice who decree that no matter what, Thou Shalt Be Nice. Too bad. Someone must have the compassion to tell you the truth. Even if it's in a Sam Kinison "LIVE WHERE THE FOOD IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" tone. Happy New Year!

- Is the cliff the root of the problem? If so, fix it and quit begging for permission
- Is the government the root of the problem? If so, then take flight from the Californian S.S.R. and seek out a freer state in which to live.
- Is your own decision to live right on a seaside cliff in California a problem? You know, every time it rains in California, we hear National Breaking News Headlines of homes destroyed as hills crumble. When it's too hot, everything in the state spontaneously combusts and there are National Breaking News Headlines about deadly wildfires. When it's too cold we hear Nationl Breaking News Headlines about glaciers taking over Rodeo Drive. When it's 72 and pleasant we hear National Breaking News Headlines about smog, pollution and how every ill the state suffers from was caused by George W. Bush-or Dick Cheney. And every other week, we're treated to a new story of fiscal crisis in California. What does this make now, 520 straight weeks?
Sincerely yours,
Alvie D. Zane

The Obama Curse
I can't help but notice that the Obama Curse continues.
He endorses a sports figure, team, or candidate for election and they go on the skids.
The latest victim, Michael Vick. Six sacks in an upset loss.
So I guess he's like The Swami, only in reverse.

NYC's dumbest with music!
I just wanted to put some background music to this. You know, something that really matches the mood and puts it all in perspective.
NYC's dumbest
Language warning.
Watch the video first. It's about 4 minutes long.
The videographer does a great job of capturing this. He then laments, "Unbelievable!" What's so unbelievable about it? You were expecting them to care about private property?
This video is the epitome of America at the moment.
So just sit back, watch it again and take it all in. These are the Flakes that Frank Zappa sang of.

More on the earlier post:
"If atheists really want attention they should erect a billboard saying Allah is a myth."
I was talking with a friend and just offered up some hypothetical situations. Some prediction of future performance based on past results. Not me wishing for a particular outcome, just thinking.
Example:
What if atheists and Muslims were to be thrown together? Regardless of who wins, I guess we wouldn't be hearing a lot about separation of church and state.
Another Example:
Westboro Baptist Church and Pink Pistols. I wonder if WBC goes to the big gay pride parades in San Francisco or Philadelphia with their signs proclaiming that "God Hates Fags"? Wonder how that would work out?
My friend made a conversation stopping observation along these lines, "I've noticed that one nutjob group never seems to confront another."
Indeed.
It seems that that though the groups at the corners like to oppose each other, the confrontation always occurs in the middle. Refer back to Bracken's CW2 cube.

How ironic. Those of us in the middle are hit only from the corners-seldom from each other. Those in the corner attempt to use the middle to turn against other corners-which seems to turn us in 8 different directions on a very rapid basis. Which is a great way to become dizzy, unbalanced, and ineffective.
So when the corners oppose each other, they go through the middle. When they work together, it's done outside of "cube space" and out of sight.

Hamtramck Pleads for Bankruptcy
In Michigan, Hamtramck Pleads for a Bankruptcy Option - NYTimes.com:
Municide continues, but why can't they just declare bankruptcy?
For reference, recall the Birmingham Sewer fiasco. Remember “Too Big To Fail” and TARP 1, 2, and ...whatever number we're up to now?
Why not bankruptcy? Because just like a string of old Christmas lights, if one goes, they all go.
The problem is not that we’ve had too much bankruptcy in the last few years, the problem is that we haven’t had enough.
Like this...
When one goes, they all go. When one city goes, a bunch more will follow. Then a whole state. Then a whole region.
Here it comes...
Guys, you can't go bankrupt yet because we haven't gotten the SHAFTD goons on every corner of America.
Later on, the story says this:
Really!? Georgia absolutely bans a city or municipality from declaring bankrupcty. Wow. I guess we should all move to the peach state because their cities will never run out of money!
Later:
We've tried to throw money at this already via TARP, QE and "stimulus" slush funds. And just like a druggie after a binge, the effects of the drug (money) are wearing off and we're on the return leg of the round trip back to the reality we tried to escape. Welcome back.
Anyone want to wager an economy that it all starts with a municipality going under?
"We can make it until March 1 — maybe,” Mr. Cooper said of Hamtramck’s ability to pay its bills. Beyond that? The political leaders of this old working-class city almost surrounded by Detroit are pleading with the state to let them declare bankruptcy, a desperate move the state is not even willing to admit as an option under the current circumstances.
"The state is concerned that if they say yes to one, if that door is opened, they’ll have 30 more cities right behind us,” Mr. Cooper said.

| My prediction for the collapse? One bankruptcy will spawn a dozen, and a dozen a thousand. “Pain” works too. |

Here it comes...
Guys, you can't go bankrupt yet because we haven't gotten the SHAFTD goons on every corner of America.
Later on, the story says this:
Prichard, Ala., which stopped paying monthly checks to retired city workers when its pension fund ran out last year, is appealing a bankruptcy judge’s ruling that it did not qualify for Chapter 9 under Alabama law.Emphasis added.
Only about 600 cities, counties, towns and special taxation districts have filed for bankruptcy (known as Chapter 9 for these sorts of entities) since 1937, said James E. Spiotto, a municipal bankruptcy expert at Chapman & Cutler, a law firm in Chicago, and fewer than 250 in the last three decades. In part, it can be hard — even impossible — to do: about half the states have statutes authorizing such filings, but some of them set limits or require elaborate approval processes. Other states have no specific provision allowing cities to pursue bankruptcy, and at least one, Georgia, bans such moves.
Really!? Georgia absolutely bans a city or municipality from declaring bankrupcty. Wow. I guess we should all move to the peach state because their cities will never run out of money!
Later:
Mr. Cooper, the city manager, says that everything else that could be cut already has been, while the city goes on spending 60 percent of its total general fund to pay for its police and firefighting forces — 75 current police officers and firefighters and about 240 former workers and spouses now on pensions. Mr. Cooper said that an entry-level police officer costs the city about $75,000 a year in salary and benefits, and yet repeated efforts to renegotiate contracts have failed.
“They kind of have the Cadillac plan,” Mr. Cooper said, “and we’d kind of like the Chevy.”Once again, retirees, firemen and police will demand to be paid-bluffing with the city that somehow they're just holding back a spare 18 million or so that would cover a nice 5% cost of living increase. Wonder how that will work out? Maybe you all should have moved to Georgia?
The police and firefighters question whether the city’s bankruptcy talk is really just a scare tactic for negotiation.
“Look, if I was king of the world, I’d give them all a million dollars,” Charles Sercombe, the editor of The Hamtramck Review, the local newspaper, said of police officers and firefighters. But isn't that precisely the problem? Or at least a contributor? Besides, if you're giving out $1M, then I'll be there in 24 hours with empty hand awaiting my $1M. And even when you give them a million dollars, they'll blow through that like Rick James snorted through royalty checks.
We've tried to throw money at this already via TARP, QE and "stimulus" slush funds. And just like a druggie after a binge, the effects of the drug (money) are wearing off and we're on the return leg of the round trip back to the reality we tried to escape. Welcome back.

More on DHS Expansion Plans
I'd like to expand a little on what I said in the previous post with regard to battlespace prep and the collapse.
Many have marveled that collapse has been staved off this long. But what's the marvel in that? Fake prosperity has been positively bubbly for decades now, so what's a few more years? Besides, staving off collapse is just another part of the battlespace prep.
How so?
The government can't just show up tomorrow with a DHS FAST trailer and an armed crew at every Wal-Mart in America, now can they? They need time. They need time to acclimate the public to the notion of porno scans of our bodies for the privilege of riding the plane. They need time to acclimate the public to the notion of grab and grope should you not consent to the porno scans. They need time to acclimate the public to the notion that between the scanner and the groping, it's an either/or choice, not a neither/nor choice. They need time to acclimate the public to the idea of DHS presence being everywhere-not just within the airports, not just at the borders, but in train stations, bus stations, subways, malls, hotels, you name it. Once the public has accepted this ubiquitous presence, then they will gladly accept a little more. This is precisely what is happening.
And what better time to collapse the ATF and combine them with DHS? Why, when you combine the DHS's DMV attitude and precognition with the ATF's firepower and penchant for dirty tricks both physical and mental, who needs an FBI? But isn't that just exactly the point? Once DHS gets into the business of "pre-crime", what major federal crimes will there be to investigate? Especially when everything is being deemed a National Security issue (take greenhouse gases for example). At this point, the new ATF-DHS abomination called SHAFTD can hand the FBI an ultimatum: "Join or Die." Thanks to the department of pre-crime, there won't be any more work for the FBI. So they can either join with SHAFTD or wither up and die as a bureaucracy as SHAFTD eclipses them.
DHS realizes that Al Qaeda isn't going to try the 9/11 hijacking again. So without another such attempt, the whole raison d'ĂȘtre for DHS evaporates. DHS also realizes that the political winds are blowing in a direction that would allow Congress to seriously defund them and reign them in.
Having "conquered" the airport, the DHS requires a new field of opportunity if they intend to remain afloat as a thriving, cash wasting, crotch grabbing bureaucracy. A revised "mission", if you will. In malls, hotels, train stations, subways, WalMarts, and grocery stores across America, they have found it.
Consider the model:
The Obamanoids have basically extorted the American people with a false choice that they must accept Cap and Trade from Congress, or else the EPA will regulate. (Conveniently, no one is talking about that whole "Hide The Decline" thing anymore-nor how it torpedoes the entire basis for any such regulation-not to mention some that's already on the books.) Having lost the House, Obama's administration is moving to regulate carbon through the EPA-thus giving the finger to America which is what they wanted to do all along.
DHS will follow the same pattern. They intend to put the camel's nose under the tent, get their virtual and physical presence in as many stores as possible so as to expand their "mission" and thus, Queen Janet's fiefdom. If they don't do this, if they aren't allowed, if they are prevented for any reason, then be on the lookout for the false flag domestic terror act. Instead of the Reichstag Fire, perhaps a Sam's Club fire. Another thwarted Christmas Tree bomber for example-something that will provide the opening for them to do it anyway. Or maybe an unthwarted Christmas Tree bomber. Maybe an unthwarted McVeigh like OKC, 1995. Only this time not at a federal building where their kids are, but maybe at a mall where your kids are. Perhaps the event would be used to justify the merger of ATF and DHS. It's not much of a stretch to believe that they're not talking to each other or that there is duplication of efforts (or double omission of efforts) now. Just hypothetically speaking, if DHS wasn't able to stop a bomber because they didn't have the explosives experience like the ATF, then clearly, the two would need to work more closely. Clearly.
If you haven't read Matthew Bracken's Enemies Foreign and Domestic trilogy, then don't despair. It may be coming true faster than you could read the whole trilogy anyway. That's not a comment on Bracken's writing, just the ever accelerating pace of endarkenment.
As a bonus for collectivists everywhere, these DHS greeters at WalMart will be the first wave of government troops to confront the American people and they will do it in the citizen's neighborhood where DHS is on an offensive footing (not the airport where they are on the defensive) and probably intimidate the public out of large scale gatherings where the sheer number of the American citizenry might overwhelm the mechanisms of government in one area or another.
Now back to the timing issue. The DHS must get embedded into the marketplace prior to the collapse if they intend to rule over the ruins. In fact, it may be the only piece of the puzzle left to be completed before the collapse happens.
When the collapse comes, consider this; it has been delayed already many times over by men who intend to reign over the rubble. It could have happened at nearly any point in time already. By all rights, it should have happened, but it hasn't. Why not? Simple. Because it's not time yet. Something is still holding it up. Inertia? Sheer mass? Duct tape? Bailing wire? What I'm suggesting is that the collapse has not yet happened because someone has decided that It is not yet time for it to occur. Those who would reign over the rubble are not even attempting to avoid collapse. They are instead positioning themselves for the backlash of an event that they themselves intend to trigger. Remember what I've said before, outcomes are determined before the game begins. The ultra-wealthy are looking at the mess we're in right now and they know as well as we do that there's no fixing this. There's no unlooting of the treasury. (But isn't it convenient that thanks to TARP, they will have a couple of extra zeros in their account when the currency gets devalued?) So rather than take an uncertain course of recovery for all at the expense of their own ruin, they're committed to a certain course of ruin for all at the expense of their own recovery. Oh sure, it's an ugly scenario, but the outcome is known. That's the important thing to them. I submit that the collapse itself will not be caused by something that "just happened", but by a deliberate, premeditated act of econocide perpetrated by those who think themselves positioned to rule over the rubble."The news slows…people forget
Shares crash, hopes are dashed …people forget
They forget they're hiding."Eminence Front – The Who.
I believe that going forward there are going to be no accidents, no real surprises, no real heading change, no real decline in rate of descent, you will see very little that is actually "news". And as Arctic Patriot notes, when the enemy moves to contact, then it's time to conduct screening operations to intercept and prepare for defense or a countermove.
Expansion of DHS Gestapo Zones
Napolitano Announces Expansion of Gestapo Zones from Airport to Malls and Hotels:
Are we?
Well no matter, you'll make contact soon enough. Perhaps at the Wal-Mart. Perhaps at the grocery store. Perhaps when you're filling your gas tank.
There sure was a brief uproar about that "domestic extremists" report that DHS put out. You know, the one that said returning veterans were potential domestic terrorists, people with bumper stickers might be terrorists, conservatives, anyone who's white, etc. Oh, but they "withdrew" it, right? So there's nothing to worry about.
So the DHS-emboldened by their victory moved towards "enhanced" searches at airports. Or "Squeezing the Charmin" as I've called it.
There sure was quite an uproar about "touching my junk" right around Thanksgiving. But few had the guts to call it the illegal, state sponsored, molestation, harassment, and invasion of privacy that it is. I note that it hasn't stopped yet either.
Having conquered the airports, the plague of DHS has spread to Wal-MarTSA's TVs.
"Battlespace Prep"-I think it's called. Just conditioning all of you/us to understand that it's time to get snitchy and snoopy on each other. (Say, I thought the left liked a woman's right to privacy?! I thought they didn't like profiling!?)
Then DHS released a video about mobile molestation centers so that they can bring the groping right to you.
Which only makes sense. I mean, airline traffic either already has declined or will crater in the future when the collapse hits. All those TSA gropers must have work somewhere-not to mention all the ATF agents that will be out of work if Mike is right.
Seems pretty clear that the government is going to continue advancing until they make contact with any resistance. Have they hit any yet?
Will they?
Here's a scenario for you:
Collapse hits. Fuel is scarce so most of America won't be going anywhere except to the store. Which will be a real bitch because they'll all be sold out or looted in minutes. So in order to form a more perfect union, establish social justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for homeland defense, promote universal welfare, the government will control the rationing of foodstuffs. When that happens, a perimeter will be set around the (insert mega store here) and people will be allowed to come and buy bread for their families-provided that they first undergo the molocaust.
What's that? The government can't put agents everywhere? You're correct! Glad you noticed. What that means is that the distribution will take place where there are legions of government lackeys-you'll have to come to them-not the other way around.
It isn't much of a stretch to imagine that the United States of America will die in a Wal-Mart parking lot as patient queues of passive onlookers wait for their turn to buy bread.
"“The United States is stepping up security at ‘soft targets’ like hotels and shopping malls, as well as trains and ports, as it counters the evolving Al-Qaeda threat, a top official said Sunday,” reports AFP.I believe the term is called "Advance To Contact." The government is doing it.
“We look at so-called soft targets — the hotels, shopping malls, for example — all of which we have reached out to in the past year and have done a fair amount of training for their own employees,” DHS boss Janet Napolitano said."
Are we?

An Important Message for All Sipsey Street Irregulars...uh...Regulars
David Codrea sends.
An excellent suggestion.
[16] And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Faith without works is dead.
Work without pay is slavery.
I repeat David's call here. Count me a "subscriber".
An excellent suggestion.
During the summer of 2009, I first came across Sipsey Street, Western Rifle Shooters, and David Codrea. While lounging on vacation and watching the townhall healthcare volcanos erupt in city after city, I had the opportunity to go back and read nearly everything that Mike had posted.
James, the half-brother of Jesus says this in James chapter 2,
[15] If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
[16] And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Faith without works is dead.
Work without pay is slavery.
I repeat David's call here. Count me a "subscriber".
Merry Christmas
Wise men still seek him.
Luke.2
[1] And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
[2] (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
[3] And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
[4] And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
[5] To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
[6] And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
[7] And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
[8] And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
[9] And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
[10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
[11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
[12] And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
[13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
[14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
[15] And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
[16] And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
[17] And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
[18] And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
[19] But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
[20] And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Gov. Christie commutes Brian Aitken’s sentence
As noted in multiple places, Gov. Christie commutes Brian Aitken’s sentence.
Here's hoping for a good reconciliation between he and his mother.
Here's hoping as well as a full restoration of his rights as an American. Commuting the sentence gets him out of prison, but doesn't remove the "stain" of the felony conviction by the kangaroo court of the People's Democratic Republic of New Jersey.

A decree went out from Comrade Lenin that all the Soviet Union should be terrorized.
The Cheka was formed.
Apparently the anniversary is being honored in Washington with the news of the expanded spying program, trash collection, etc. mentioned earlier.
I'm confused though-should I call the DHS the SA, Cheka, KGB? Maybe "DHSS" would work.
The Armed Citizen
These stories are a regular feature in the American Rifleman magazine put out by the NRA.
I had one related to me today by a friend which I will paraphrase here.
I had a couple of motorcycles on a trailer out behind our apartment. I heard this ruckus outside and saw a couple of teenagers backed their truck up to the trailer. I got out my pistol and put a laser bead right on the kid's chest. They got the message.
Moral of the story:
I had never even thought about this before, but one simple laser beam precluded the need for a shot to be fired. I wonder how much that was worth? To the man defending his property? To the would be thieves? I'd like to think that the kids learned something and perhaps decided to make a "career change."
Got laser?

Here's what's on the menu today:
Orwell was an optimist indeed.
- Winter Solstice and Lunar eclipse overlap for the first time in 456 years. (story)
- Julius Seizer is about to take over the internet in yet another unprecedented, unconstitutional power grab. (story)
- Fedgov is creating a vast domestic spying apparatus (story) which the USSR used to know as Second Directorate
- Waste Management is participating in a "mobile community watch" (also known as stukach) program in New York State. (story)
- A Mexican drone is found in El Paso and promptly returned to the Mexican government (rather than the narcos who probably controlled it and paid for it).
- The TSA choir sings.
- And the Molocaust continues.

Mexican drone crashes in backyard of El Paso home - El Paso Times

Why.....surely the narcos haven’t co-opted government technology for their own uses-maybe to help shepherd their people around traps out in our desert. Sure would have been nice to read the black box (if there is one) and see where this drone has been, what it's been looking at, and when. Sure would have been nice to check the transmitting/receiving frequencies.
Meanwhile, the Molocaust continues and the TSA Choir sings.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command would not comment on the incident and referred all questions to the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection.Let's see:
In a statement, Jenny L. Burke, spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, said, "We responded to a concerned citizen's call and recovered a small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which belonged to the Government of Mexico (GOM).
"We worked collaboratively with the GOM and other U.S. federal agencies to coordinate the return of the UAV to (Mexico)."
Neither Department of Homeland Security or U.S. Border Patrol officials would say why the drone was returned to Mexico before investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board could inspect it.

- Returned to Mehico before it could be inspected.
- Air Defense Command would not comment on the incident instead, referring questions to DHS.
- DHS and Border Patrol can't answer why the craft was returned to the government of Mexico.
- Plus a mention of John Robb of GG. Shout out from the hood!

A Mexican drone crashed in El Paso's Lower Valley, sparking a federal investigation and raising questions about why the aircraft was in U.S. airspace.
"We are collecting data about the crash. We don't have the aircraft because it was returned to its owner," said Keith Holloway, spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board, which investigates aircraft crashes in the United States and in other countries that request its help.

Georgia Carry.org sticker = special treatment at traffic stop « Restore The Constitution:
The audio quality is not great-mostly because it's from inside the car. But what you can hear tells you that the officer made the pat down for firearms and a quick window search of the vehicle based on the GCO sticker. Strange...if you pat down the "suspect" for firearms (for your safety of course), find none, and then have him sit on the bumper of your cruiser 10 feet away, why do you need to search the vehicle for firearms. Your safety is already taken care of, right?
I guess though in the world of Only Ones, guns can spontaneously discharge, accidentally discharge, etc. Even if nobody's touching them.

Chavez: Dictator for a year
Chavez seeks power to rule by decree for 1 year
CARACAS, Venezuela – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Tuesday asked congress to grant him special powers to enact laws by decree for one year, just before a new legislature takes office with a larger contingent of opposition lawmakers.
Vice President Elias Jaua made the request on Chavez's behalf, saying the president will use the authorization to ensure fast-track approval of laws aimed at helping the nation recover from severe flooding and mudslides that left thousands homeless and in government shelters.Boy it sure is a good thing that we've got democracy and freedom and that can't happen here.
Chavez's opponents accuse him of using the natural disaster to impose socialist-inspired measures and undermine the power of newly elected opposition lawmakers.
Wimp! I'm ruling by decree for 2 years! Si se puede, jefe!

iSnitch
From Infowars comes this story about a new iPhone app for snitches. Story here
Now there's a phone to warm the gnome's heart.
Of course, the icons should be adjusted so as to reflect what they're truly after. (Sorry, but the Zanes are going to see The Voyage of The Dawn Treader tonight. Snark will have to wait until later.)
Now for a more serious, Global Guerrillas type question; Does anyone have a similar kind of app that can quickly share information like this within a given community? Think of the potential for quickly sharing observations within a certain tribe of people. There would obviously need to be another set of icons, but again, it can wait.

Assassin Nation
From WRSA, Assassin Nation. Read the links.
Thoughts:
Thoughts:
- You will be amazed at what you "learn" about a man after he's been assassinated.
- Perhaps they haven't thought this all the way through, but if they bring the war home, they'll bring the war home.
- If the government treats an innocent man like a terrorist in his own country, then being a good citizen means not struggling against the restraints on your way to a shallow, mass grave.
- Perhaps this is part of the left's solution to "bring the troops home."

Acting Black
Media Demands That President Obama Start “Acting Black” - Big Journalism:
"Black!?" Don't you libs mean, African-American? Sounds like someone owes Uncle Joe Biden an apology.
"Act!?" Why not just...be? I thought it was bad when a President was an ...actor. It sure was during the 1980s.
Oh, and I can't resist noting that this same tribe of useful idiots declared Clinton America's first black President. Perhaps letting Clinton run the press conference is Obama's response to the "act black" cry from the media.
I'll make this short and sweet:
At heart, he isn't, therefore he can't.
"Some of the same members of the media, who once sold us on the idea of President Obama being a post racial and post partisan President more than two years ago, are demanding that he gets tougher with his political opponents or in their words, “act black” in order to save his presidency."

| "You are no longer under consideration for the position of..." |
The result is predictable and repeated often. The "Dear John" letter takes great care to nearly whine about how hard it was for management to make a decision. How there was an overwhelming response and there were so many well-qualified candidates.
I submit that the "well qualified" might do well to quit being Charlie Browns. Stop chasing after the damned football. The only purpose your application serves is to make the pre-selected winner look all the better for having come out ahead of so many well qualified candidates. Sound cynical? Prove me wrong. Some of you out there know what I'm talking about, so go ahead and put your hands in the air-you know you want to.
Consider also the Mancession.
Something WRSA said struck a nerve and I'm going to tie it back to this discussion.
The ruling class is both intellectually shallow and non-adaptive.
Think of it this way; Outcomes are determined before the game ever begins.
Examples:
- Bills don't come to the floor of The House to see if they will pass, they only come to the floor when it is known that they will pass.
- Summits between leaders are not held until the agreement has been hammered out by the underlings.
- Major projects in many companies are not approved unless a certain outcome can be guaranteed.
- Job positions are not posted unless the successful candidate is already known to management. (that's internal posting, not external)
- Further, promotional jobs-the ones everyone wants are always posted, but with requirements that can only be met by fulfilling certain "developmental roles."
- Developmental roles that would "punch your ticket" so as to qualify you for he promotional opportunities are never posted and are only awarded to people endorsed by management. (This creates a convenient catch-22 where you can't get the experience you need to be considered for the promotional job. But the company can still proclaim "fairness" in that they posted the job at all-even though they already knew who the candidate pool would be.)
Example, many industries are more than happy with merely having a seat at the government's table where rules governing their existence are crafted where they can have "input". Rather than disagreeing with the rule on principle alone, they'd prefer to have input into crafting the rules that govern them. Why? Because if you're trying to stop a rule, then the outcome is by no means certain. If you're "working towards constructive regulation" then you know what the end result is going to be and having a seat at the table means advance notice of how it might affect your company.
Non-adaptive. Meaning, resistant to change. Truth. The banks were resistant to change. For them, change might have meant bankruptcy and prison. Instead, we got TARPzilla and they kept getting their bonuses while America continues to decline. To a lesser degree, it is like this in BigDumbCo's everywhere-especially in those which are heavily regulated and whose success or failure depends on the whim of government. At the top, the actions and decisions of the ruling class reinforce this idea, "Keep improving results, but don't change anything about the way we're doing business." In those companies, the thought process of the leaders, the internal policies, and the expectations are almost like those of the government itself. Only the name on the paycheck is different. Change might mean smaller bonuses for the ruling class, so change is to be avoided.
As we look across the landscape of the world though, collapse is coming. (Gasp...change!) So how will the shallow, non-adaptive ruling class manage change? Poorly I think. When it all goes down the tubes, many of the ruling class will remove their heads from the sand and be eager to once again offer their services as Lord of the Rubble (or Lord over the Rabble-whatever). Post-collapse however, the sights of many a Country Class rifle may be trained upon the top of the rubble pile ready to "disagree" with any member of the former ruling class who now intends to rule over them.
![]() |
| "My prediction for the collapse aftermath? Accountability. ('Pain' works too.)" |
Experience as a member of the ruling class today doesn't qualify one to rule over the ruins tomorrow. To the contrary, prior experience as a member of the ruling class disqualifies. Today, the ruling class is doing little if anything to prevent such a collapse. Had he survived, would you want this man to captain another vessel with 1500 souls aboard?

Helping WalmarTSA
Help WalMart with their contribution to Napolitano's tyranny state.
"Every time you see or hear this message in WalMart, be sure and run to the nearest WalMart supervisor and point out that there are suspicious people in their store that you believe are potential terrorists, or at least people who are criminals by virtue of their violation of U.S. federal laws on illegal immigration. Insist that THEY do something about it."I love it!
Why this is something that Dr. Blofelt or S.P.E.C.T.R.E or the League of Evil would be proud of. It's Cloward-Piven. It's Alinksy (make them live by their own rules). Why....it's downright....subtle.

GOPeasement
From Hope n' Change Cartoons:
It's why the GOP retains this Cone of Shame seal of disapproval from The Cliffs.
Barack Hussein Obama is a man who chooses his words carefully. There are no acts of terror, only 'man-caused disasters.' Under his watch, the term 'Islamic radical' has been scrubbed from the books of Homeland Security and law enforcement. When a Muslim murders soldiers at Fort Hood, or attempts to detonate an underwear bomb, or drives a car filled with explosives to Times Square, this president reminds us to watch what we say and not 'jump to conclusions.'
All of this being the case, when the president labels Republicans "hostage-takers" (and the American people "hostages"), we have to assume that he has not done so casually, but is instead making a deliberate attempt to be as insulting as possibleWord.

WalmarTSA - Busts of The Suspicious Begin
A reader comments:
Well thanks to The Grinch (or gnome-whatever), WalmarTSA, and Anon, America's threat level can be lowered from red to orange, or fuschia, or goldenrod, or whatever the hell color it is. And all of us can sleep safe at night knowing that one more suspicious person has been "taken down".
On the downside, I guess Christmas Eve is pretty well screwed.
Thanks a lot, Anon!

Last week I got coffee in Litchfield - while there I saw this suspicious looking guy, kinda fat, red jacket and pants with a white beard. He even waved at me. I headed north to the new Wally World where, lo and behold, there's this same dude, following me down the aisle. WTF? Being a good subject, I immediately found a store management type (I know this because she was watching two others work) and told her about this guy; I even pointed him out. She started laughing. I, of course, was NOT smiling. As far as I know she is still laughing. At least she was when I walked away from her. Nonetheless, I felt better for having turned in a very suspicious looking character.

Blue State Armageddon On The Way
H/T to Sipsey for this piece about the impending doom of blue state debt.
If they say no and refuse to bail them out:
In public relations and image terms, think 1995 government shutdown to the trillionth power. The willing accomplices in the drive-by press will howl non-stop. I could easily see them suspending all other programming to hammer at this one issue. No American Idol. No Iron Chef. No Andy Griffith reruns. No Oprah. (wait. This is sounding better and better.)
If they say yes and bail them out:
In economic terms, think Black Friday to the trillionth power. And the political and public fallout will be just as bad as above.
Could this be the last straw? Absolutely.
How convenient that those blue states have been able to remain solvent just long enough for their opponents to gain control the Congress-where all spending bills are to be written and in a year when they have no approved budget for the fiscal year (thanks to the outgoing party).
If things go wrong in the markets for blue state debt, watch out. If big blue states like New York, California and Illinois hit a point of market failure when private investors will no longer buy their bonds, Washington will have to decide what to do. Fast.
It will be ugly, and it will hurt.
Will GOP legislators bail out the public sector unions and shovel cash into the maw of improvident and badly managed blue states like so many steaming German taxpayers bailing out the lazy Greeks? Or will Congress sit on its hands while vital state services close down, unemployment spikes, and the financial markets panic? Will all parties turn to the Fed to buy up state bonds? If so, on what conditions and terms?
If they say no and refuse to bail them out:

WalmarTSA Speech transcript breakdown
At The Cliffs, we believe in dissecting the complex to make it simple. So I decided to take Sec. Napolitano's Wal-Mart video speech to explain it. My translation is in italics.
Or as MC Hammer would say…
![]() |
| "BREAK IT DOWN!!" |
Hi, I'm Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Homeland security begins with hometown security, that's why I'm pleased that Wal-Mart is helping to make our communities more safe and secure.Homeland security begins in your hometown, homeboy. Not at the border. Got it?
Wal-Mart hasn't had this program until now. But since the nation's largest retailer will do it, we soon expect all other businesses to follow Wal-Mart's lead and air a similar video, comrade.
If you see something suspicious in the parking lot or in the store, say something immediately.Be a good citizen and be fearful of others. Be suspicious of others. Treat all people as suspects. Besides, if the police were to try and collar someone merely on suspicion, then they'd be in trouble over that pesky civil rights thing. You on the other hand can call it in. This then gives police justification to violate the "suspect's" civil rights based on pure suspicion thanks to your call!
Further, we expect that there will be a lot of suspicious activity at Wal-Mart. There may even be an increased risk of terror at Wal-Marts since they are so staunchly anti-union. Or there's always that whole doom thing...
Report suspicious activity to your local police or sheriff. If you need help, ask a Wal-Mart manager for assistance. If you need help ask a Wal-Mart manager. Don't ask the police for help-that's not their job. Got it?
Thank you for doing your part to help keep our hometowns safe.
Other thoughts:
- Say something, but don't actually DO anything. Because you are subjects, not citizens. Subjects report. Citizens take action. Let the authorities handle this.
- We know that you evil, right wing, hate-filled, militia types still shop at Wal-Mart. We know that you carry your guns and may even purchase the occasional box of ammo there. You'll now run the risk of being a "suspect" for nothing more than walking through the sporting goods section.
- Oh and this will work out great in many small towns where the Wal-Mart put in a supercenter and promptly drove every other retailer in town out of business. Where else can you shop?
- "Our hometowns." Not "your hometown". "Our hometowns." Get it? It's not your town anymore, but their towns.
- After a few "suspicious" events at Wal-Marts in "our hometowns", the DHS will need to set up FAST screening and TSA style pat-downs to get in and out of Wal-Marts. Besides, once the collapse hits, you'll be thanking us for protecting your Wal-Mart-also known as the only store receiving any goods or food since all of that will be under government control.
- I earlier noted that Wal-Mart didn't have this snitch program before. On the other hand, Costco folks were so helpful in reporting a "suspicious person". Thanks to the tip, the police in turn were able to shoot Erik Scott (obituary) dead at the Costco in Las Vegas and all of America can now rest easy.
- The gnome told us where she thinks homeland security begins. She conveniently didn't tell us where she thinks it ends. Allow me to fill in the blank...

Streisand Effect
As noted by RTC, the more you try to cover something up, the more it spreads. This is the Streisand Effect.
As noted by WRSA, there was some major saggage in one of his photos. This deeply offended my delicate sensibilities. I just felt like some censorship was needed.
Using the jack-o-lantern (or is that plural? Whatever.) from Maggie's Farm earlier this year seemed appropriate as it allows the subject to remain true to life, while actually improving the view.
There, I fixed it!
As noted by WRSA, there was some major saggage in one of his photos. This deeply offended my delicate sensibilities. I just felt like some censorship was needed.

Seasons In Hell
Just finished this book.
First of all, this is heartbreaking material that is primarily told from the standpoint of eyewitnesses to genocide.
Some thoughts:
"Looking back, we should have realized we were doomed from the moment President Bush called it, "a humanitarian nightmare." How stupid of us not to realise: not a political nightmare or a military nightmare, but a humanitarian nightmare. And even that they cured with the wrong medicine. ...
The UN troops will keep giving us food packets to stay alive, but it won't really be living, just as we can't call it living now. "The Humanitarian Nightmare."; there'll be no economy, we'll be living on "humanitarian" aid ten years from now. It's still prison whoever the warder is. I have a good friend who is dead now and sometimes I envy her."
- Senada Kreso
I want to thank Matthew Bracken for recommending this book to me. It is an immersion into a real-life example of the CW2 cube that I talk about so much on here.
The bottom line is that all this has happened before and it will all happen again. Along with many others, I'm convinced that it's going to happen here.
First of all, this is heartbreaking material that is primarily told from the standpoint of eyewitnesses to genocide.
Some thoughts:
- The Balkan peninsula went from peaceful to hell within just a couple of months (without an economic crash, by the way).
- Money was extorted from the Muslims-for the privilege of being allowed to escape and be shot at as they did so.
- In World War I, 90% of casualties were uniformed soldiers. In Bosnia, 85% of casualties were civilians.
- Naked aggression was rewarded by governments who were more interested in preserving their own than they were in defending the defenseless.
- Muslims at one point fought alongside the Croats. Later on the Croats turned on those same Muslims and treated them just as the Serbs had. In the polygonal battlespace, alliances can be very temporary and mercurial. Adapting quickly to change is a critical life skill. Anticipating this kind of change should be easier for us with the benefit of hindsight and history. Right?
- It seems that the strongest diplomatic pressure was reserved for the Muslims. Agree to the terms, sign the documents and the fighting will end.
- Diplomats allowed for Yugoslavia to be carved up along racial lines. Imagine a similar carving of the US. Too much carving to imagine? It was too much for Bosnia to imagine as well.
- UN "Safe Areas", aren't. These are places where the UN is presiding over the rubble. The job of the UN peacekeepers is to congregate where the weaker side is and point their guns at the weaker side to encourage them to stop their struggle against the more powerful attacker. To cease struggle is surrender though-and it doesn't matter whether you stop slow or fast.
- Leveling the killing field is a good thing. Had this been done early in the war, the Bosnians might have stood a chance. As it was, an uneven playing field was maintained.
- In one gambit, the Serbs captured a mountain within some UN exclusion zone. They declared, "We're staying." And then waited for the warplanes to warm up. At the 11th hour it seemed, they were negotiated a deal. They would leave the mountaintop for a guarantee that UN forces would hold the mountain and deny it to any other forces. Thus, the UN essentially did their work for them. As a bonus, the UN wouldn't call in air strikes when their own forces were on the ridges which meant that the Serbs were still safe.
"Looking back, we should have realized we were doomed from the moment President Bush called it, "a humanitarian nightmare." How stupid of us not to realise: not a political nightmare or a military nightmare, but a humanitarian nightmare. And even that they cured with the wrong medicine. ...

Vanished
WRSA sends
Ponder for a second the power that fedgov has to deny service to Wikileaks.
That at least made the news.
How many outside of our own circle notice when literal endarkenment hits the wookiesphere?
As WRSA says, print what you think you need and quickly.

Snow-klan
KKK Snowman - Story
Can't a man even build a Senator Robert C. Byrd Memorial Statue in his front yard?
![]() |
"HAYDEN, Idaho -- While most see the holiday season as one of joy and merrymaking, at least one Hayden, Idaho, resident is taking the opportunity to spread a little hate courtesy of a noose-carrying, KKK hood-wearing snowman on their front lawn."
Several area parents noticed the offensive snow sculpture, located in front of a home in the 9000 block of Hillview Drive, while taking their kids to school Wednesday morning.
One resident said they were "appalled at the nerve they have to threaten people in our community with their signs of hatred," adding that this is a season of love and hope, not hate.

Robert Gibbs: We’re Not Scared of One Guy With A Laptop | CNSnews.com
Story
Today it happens to be Wikileaks. But how many times in the past have various administrators lost their laptops which contained the personally identifiable information of millions?
While we're on the subject of information security, mark Clubber Lang's prediction on this page from the other day. The Government will make it all better with a new and improved layer of bureaucracy that will add cost and confusion.
But this problem isn't limited to just government. My guess is that many businesses are equally sloppy in the handling of their data and access. Thus, they are similarly at risk. Which could mean that you see similar measures being voluntarily taken within the private sector to avoid a wikileaks moment. Or it could be that new, improved, tougher legislation (think Sarbanes Oxley) might be passed requiring businesses to add this layer of compliance.
As bad as you think it is, it's actually worse.
No, but we as Americans should be afraid of thousands of guys who apparently can’t maintain information securely and compartmentalize as needed.
"'We should never be afraid of one guy who plopped down $35 and bought a Web address,' White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told Fox & Friends. 'Our foreign policy is stronger than that; we're a stronger country than that. We're not scared of one guy with one keyboard and a laptop.'"

ANTI-DRUG EFFORT IN PERIL!!!!!!
From the Knoxville News-Sentinel:
(sorry, doomer humor)
This could either mean more liberty for the rest of us, or that those same police like Trooper Loftis will rachet up their "civil seizure" cases to help make up the shortfall.
When law enforcement has to be funded by what they can seize under color of law, how is that different than a gang of highwaymen?
Look for more of this in the future as "austerity" kicks in.
P.S. Austerity sure makes it sound cultured, doesn't it?
"The campaign to cut off congressional earmarks could mean amputation for one arm of Tennessee's war on drugs, officials said Tuesday.
Police agencies and communities around the state have relied for the past decade on the Tennessee National Guard's Counterdrug Task Force for anti-drug education programs, intelligence analysis and other support. Three-fourths of the funding for that task force comes from a $4 million add-on - or earmark - to the National Defense Appropriations Act each year, sponsored by Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn."So would they have to fight a war against drugs while "dis-armed?"

APB: Expert Marksman!!!
Ronni Chasen murdered. Story
Not sure who this is, but I send my condolences to her family. The point I found interesting is this:
Wouldn't a professional gunman want to use fewer bullets, draw less attention, and expedite the exfil? Just saying.
Frank: I promise you; whatever scum did this, not one man on this force will rest one minute until he's behind bars. Now, let's grab a bite to eat.

"The coroner said the nature of the famed publicist's injuries were consistent with being targeted by a professional gunman.5 shots to the chest!? In the world of expert marksmanship, that would be 4 shots too many.
The report said:'There were three apparent gunshot wounds to the right side breast/chest area. There were two apparent gunshot wounds to the right shoulder.
'There was an apparent gunshot wound to the right upper back and the left upper back.'One bullet was recovered from her back while at the hospital and is possibly a 9mm hollow point.' Detectives confirmed they are looking for a skilled marksman as part of their murder probe. They believe the gunman fired from a SUV or truck that pulled up alongside Miss Chasen's BMW as she stopped on Sunset Boulevard."

Jobless benefits run out for 25,000 Georgians
Story.
The other day it was Kentucky. Today, Georgia. Only 55 more states to go, right? You know that we'll be hearing these stories in every single state in the country and that this mass of folks will be out there looking for ways to survive-if not actual work. In fairness to Garvey, there just isn't much work to be had.
You're getting a 2 for 1 here at the Cliffs today.
In other Atlanta news (with video):
A program that offers heating bill assistance quickly ran out of "assistance."
What a surprise. The deep well of "help" on which some have always relied is now running dry.
Do you remember how the horde handled things this summer when the "assistance" for section 8 housing ran out? story
This is a theme that will be repeated in many different areas of life, with many different groups affected and many different people being impacted.
Which way are you facing?
"Caught in the middle is Brad Garvey, who has collected benefits since he was laid off from the U.S. Department of Justice a year ago.
Without an extension, his benefits will at best get him through January. After that, “Well, I don’t think about that,” he said Tuesday. He searches daily for jobs daily and volunteers with various organizations. He’s been repeatedly turned down because he’s overqualified, he said, even for service industry gigs.
“I’m not just sitting around,' said Garvey, 32, of Midtown. 'I want to work, even if I don’t get paid.”"If only you wanted to get paid and not work, you'd still be there. But since you seem to have an honest attitude and have detatched yourself from the government, maybe there's hope for you.

Ireland's Debt Servitude – Telegraph Blogs
As posted at WRSA.
Ambrose Evans-Pritchard asks this question about the Irish "bailout".
"The question is, should the Dail vote against the austerity budget on December 7, Pearl Harbour Day. And should the next government – with Sinn Fein in the coalition? – tell the EU to go to Hell, do an Iceland, wash its hands of the banks, and carry out a unilateral default on senior debt by refusing to extend the guarantee?
The risks are huge, but then the provocations are also huge. And there is a score to settle. Did the EU not disregard the Irish `No’ to Lisbon, just as it disregarded the first Irish `No’ to Nice? Did it not trample all over Irish democracy?"
Read the whole thing.
December 7 could be an Independence day for Ireland.
Will America have our own Independence Day? Or will we be too busy. Too tired. Too far to travel. Too dense to get it. You do remember TL's call for a non-stop rally from 1-21-11 forward, right?
