CW2 Cube, McDonalds, and you

By now, I'm sure you've all heard about the beatdowns going on at McDonald's.  (Actual former jingle: "You deserve a break today!")

There's something similar about these, but I just can't put my finger on it.....Oh yeah, here it is:

The attackers seem to be coming from one particular corner.

From TheSmokingGun.com we have this:
APRIL 25--The Baltimore teenager charged last week with the brutal beating of a McDonald’s patron was arrested last year for assaulting a woman following a dispute in the same restaurant, The Smoking Gun has learned.
Really?  I'm shocked.

In this previous event...
Brown was hit with a pair of misdemeanor assault charges, according to a July 28 statement of charges filed in District Court. However, an October 21 filing shows that Judge Norman R. Stone issued a “nolle prosequi” finding with regard to the two counts (each of which carried a maximum prison term of 10 years). (7 pages)
Really?  I'm shocked.

She started a fight with someone, then followed them elsewhere to continue it.  Perhaps a wise Latina like Xochitl Hinojosa could have made a better decision than Mr. Stone.

Later, it comes out that a rally condemning the attack is planned for Monday at 7 PM-or in about 3 minutes from now.  Too bad they're holding it at the damned restaurant.  It isn't like the McDonald's employees attacked this person.  But it sure isn't like they broke it up either.

"You want fries with that concussion?"
In fact, it's not clear to me that the employee who filmed it actually called police at all.  But perhaps his filming of this particular beatdown by the suspect will help the judge to lock her fists of fury up for a while.

Maybe I missed it, is there a rally at Judge Norman R. Stone's office to condemn the genius "nolle prosequi" decision?  I presume that this is Latin for, "we don't give a shit."

If ever there was a moment for an open carry rally, this would be it.  Oh wait, I forgot, it's Maryland.  Good luck with that.

I guess I should get really worked up about this.  REALLY worked up.  I don't frequent the McDonald's that often if ever.  I have only been to Maryland one time in my life.  But the truth is that "McDonald's" and "Maryland" are coming to me and you.

Finally, I throw in as a bonus, the money line of this interview with Tyler Perry-creator of the Madea character.
Perry: I thought you was going to ask about Spike Lee. I’m so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee,” Perry said during the press conference. “Spike can go straight to hell! You can print that. I am sick of him talking about me, I am sick of him saying, ‘this is a coon, this is a buffoon.’ I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies. This is what he said: ‘you vote by what you see,’ as if black people don’t know what they want to see. Spike needs to shut the hell up…I’m so sorry I jumped on you.

You don't have to be black to appreciate Madea and to enjoy Perry's work. Lady Zane can testify.  Do they play on stereotypes?  Well, I guess so.  Perry's films work though because they just feel genuine.

"Suck it up and shut the hell up."
2:40, Money.  "Stop being the victim."

A good word for all.  Black, white, man, woman, married, single, doesn't matter.

Perhaps if Spike Lee's films weren't trying to be like a Henry Gates lecture (that-oh by the way, charges you admission) he'd have a leg to stand on when criticizing Perry.  Spike, people are voting by what they see.  So when was the last time Spike Lee had anything relevant or profitable.  Sounds to me like Lee is criticizing Perry as the only way he can get attention.

Gates: "I told you, I'm NOT SPIKE LEEEEE!!!!"
Policeman's thought cloud: "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit brutalizing people in handcuffs..."
