WalMarTSA gets back to guns. Sort of.

Again, still digging out from last week.

h/t to Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit.

CNN story here.

In 2006, Wal-Mart (WMT, Fortune 500), the world's largest retailer stopped selling guns in the majority of its stores, blaming slow demand for those types of firearms. Lopez said Wal-Mart is focusing on stores in areas where hunting and fishing are popular activities.

Hmmmm, Maybe it's just that Wal-Mart isn't selling the right kind of guns.

How about this one:

Yeah, it's probably Chinese made.  But if the price point is somewhere below $1000 for a new one with 2 magazines and a case out the door, then I'd bite.
 Or this:

No. Everyone does not have one yet.  In fact, the AR has yet to be Wal-Marketed.  Imagine the market field available if Wal-Mart were to jump into AR-15's, the accessories, and parts?  Imagine the horror of the left at the mainstreaming of Evil Black Rifles.
How about this stuff here:

XM-193AF on stripper clips.  Can you do 900 rounds under $300 with a 30 Cal can?  I'm in.

Or how about this beauty,

Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Or this!

Or how about reloading supplies?
Okay, I know Wal-Mart isn't a gun store.  But what are people spending their money on right now?  A smart business might try to service that customer base and get their business.  Especially if you can beat them on price.  You know, it's almost like WalMart is trying to shed their former image as being THE redneck store for the sake of getting along with the left.

Some businesses thought are more concerned with their image as a citizen in their community and their good works and all that. I take that as code for, "We're not interested in making money, just in expanding market share and achieving market dominance to crush competition so that we can then control prices in a near monopolistic environment where you have no choice but to buy from us."

If you see something, buy something!

You know guns are a great business investment when used car dealers are giving away AK-47s with purchases.

Wal-Mart up here has always sold guns.

Reason 4,967,214 why I love my state.

I'm just not so hot on the collusion between the TSA and the garden gnome's minions.

You're quite right that not everyone has acquired an AR. One of the reasons is that some continue to tell people that it's inferior to the tin lizzie of defense weapons, the AK47/74, which is complete bull manure.

What most folks ought to know is you can build a nice, no frills AR-15 for about $600.00 if you and a number of friends acquire just a few special tools. Magazines, standard size, are about $12.00 each for new, first class ones.

Everyone should own at least one, five or more is better. Ten magazines per weapon, 5000 rounds per weapon.

So many guns, so little time. I should have included the AK series and the SKS. Both worthy rifles.

Trudat on the AR kits. A worthy bundle might be, AR in a box. All the parts and tools you need to assemble the rifle. That's your Walmarketing right there.
