Biden, NRA to meet on guns
Vice President Biden will meet this week with the National Rifle Association and a variety of other groups as his task force on guns intensifies its efforts.
Biden will meet Wednesday with gun-safety organizations and shooting victims groups and on Thursday will meet with gun ownership organizations and sportsmen who use guns recreationally, according to the White House.
NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said the organization accepted an invitation received from the White House late Friday.
"We are sending a rep to hear what they have to say," Arulanandam said.
Biden will also meet with members of the video game and entertainment industry, which have come under scrutiny in the debate over gun violence.
Biden is leading a task force charged with making recommendations to President Obama to prevent shooting massacres, and it increasingly looks like the task force is taking a broad look at how to limit gun violence.
Yeah, it might look that way. But the truth is that the "recommendations" are already developed. Remember my theme; Outcomes are determined before the game begins. For those powerful enough, the game is never allowed to begin unless the outcome is already known. The purpose of these meetings is therefore not a "listening tour" to see what everyone says, but a meeting to dictate to the stakeholders what those outcomes will be, what the proper place of each of those stakeholders is in the new reality, and what they'll have to give up.
The tone of the meeting with the NRA and gun rights groups will go something like this;
Okay look, we've already talked to the banks who finance everybody who makes, distributes, or sells guns, ammunition, spare parts, and such. That whole Spirit Arms (link) Bank Of America thing is just one example. We can do that to all of you. And since your money is tied up in those banks, you'll have a hard time trying to function without them. Especially since your inventory is now depleted and your entire store of wealth is in Ones and Zeros in the bank instead of assets on the shelf.
Now look Wayne, I know what you're going to say, How in the world can this government on the one hand give guns to cartels through Gunwalker and then take them away from the law-abiding with the other? Easy. You let us. The whole Gunwalker thing was a flub on our part. If not for Brian and Terry, you'd probably never even know about it. Nice try uncovering it, sticking with it, speaking truth to power and all, but that crap is all over now. Nobody's going to jail. Nobody's resigning. Nobody is going to give up Holder or Obama. All the people who could have done this have been sufficiently cowed, compromised, blackmailed, or buried. As for the ones who first brought this to light….well, you know what they say about payback.

Those "Oathkeepers"? Fugghedaboudit. When we grab for the guns, they're going to do the same thing they did after Jose Guerena got killed. They'll show up to mourn around the chalk outline and make speeches. They're not going to endanger themselves, their families, or most importantly, our position and power. They're not going to stop us. If they refuse to carry out our orders with that quaint "ten orders they won't obey" crap, then they'll wind up like other ATF whistle blowers you've heard of (or others you'll never hear of). They'll be fired and someone else will be promoted. Either way our orders will get carried out. And those "Oathkeepers" who try to turn their muzzles around on us won't last long either. You remember General Carter Ham? How long did he last after he decided to disobey his orders?

| Within 30 seconds, General Ham was relieved of his command. |
Those oathkeepers who might consider aiming at us are already being identified and marked through disciplinary reviews, security screenings, or reassignment to remote locations where they get only the intel we give them and have little opportunity to influence current events. It's ready to go as soon as we pull the trigger. Heh. Pull the trigger, what am I saying? God love ya, everybody let's recognize Wayne LaPierre over here! But seriously, those Oathkeepers wouldn't even show up at the Restore The Constitution rally in 2010 on the Potomac. A ridiculous rumor from a shaky source and they ran across the river to the empty holster rally.
By the way, we didn't quit on Gunwalker, we hit the gas pedal. Where do you think all those billions of rounds went anyway? What good are all those hammers without nails? I'll promise you they didn't all land within reach of the "oathkeepers"!

The bottom line is that gun control means that only the people we want to have guns will have them. And we will be in control of those who control the guns.
Now I know what you're thinking, Wayne, "Man, this is a load of Biden! He's got to be crazy if he thinks anybody is going to sit still for this!" and I'm right there with ya. But enough of you will sit still for this. All that talk about declaring you guys to be terrorist organizations isn't out of left field either. It is from the center. Straight from the heart. You can either fade away quietly, or we'll begin widespread investigations of your membership declaring many of them to be precisely what we say they are and then proving this in court. (remember, the outcome is determined before the game begins. This is especially true in the Justice system.) We'll drag them and their families through the mud. They will be class enemies of the people and the state. They'll be shunned by everyone in their community. Their kids will be harassed. Their homes will get egged. Their wives will be threatened. And since Gunwalker is still arming the cartels, those who merely get egged and harassed will be the lucky ones. The head of the home, I mean the terrorist will be detained and sooner or later, we'll get around to trying him. That NDAA thing will sure come in handy-because instead of being forced to provide a speedy trial, we'll make sure the wheels of justice take their time to consider every fact we can find or fabricate. Not to mention the sheer volume of such cases will bog down the system. A little civil seizure, a little forfeiture jujitsu, a little Corporate Arrest Reporting Policy at his job and the next thing you know, the family will probably be out on the street while dad is at trial. After all, there's no telling if there's more stuff buried under the lawn or in the house. And you can't be too careful or too hasty in making a thorough check of all the premises-even when you turn up nothing initially. I wonder how the family can pay the mortgage while he's detained awaiting a court date? (And wherever they go and whoever helps them, we'll make a note.) With NDAA, we might not even tell the family where dad is or even that we have him. Remember those friends of ours at the banks? They will be eager to start foreclosure on the first missed payment. And when you gun organizations try to support any of these terrorists, you'll be aiding terrorists-thus proving your terrorist nature and the linkage to these people to be true. In which case, RICO will also come in handy for taking care of your assets and you personally.
It also really doesn't matter whether we get this ban passed through Congress or not. If Congress passes it, the Supreme Court will side with us and give you the Flounder decision.

| "You trusted us. You fucked up." |
If Congress refuses to pass it (i.e. Boehner only gives us 90% of what we want), then the right crisis will lead to an Executive Order which says exactly the same thing as the bill. Yeah. I've already seen it. Unlike the bill though, this will be covered by a national emergency and welcomed by a panicked population. What crisis might that be? Well, how about exposing a widespread epidemic of terrorists that are card-carrying NRA members? That would be a national security threat. Especially considering how many of them work in such critical areas of the economy such as power generation, transmission, and distribution. Truckers. Railroad engineers. Even law enforcement. Our food production and distribution networks. (you know, those folks you used call "farmers" and we call "bitter clingers") Of course, we might collapse the dollar before then and there's your national emergency right there. Tomayto-tomahto. The result is what matters.
Once the preliminaries are out of the way, they'll get around to listing their demands and providing their foes with the view into the Palantir that they want them to have.
The task force was assembled in response to the shooting massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., which resulted in 27 dead, including 20 children. Obama has described the day as the worst of his presidency, and has said he will look to take quick action on the Biden group's recommendations. The Washington Post recently reported that the White House is weighing a broad approach on gun control that would go beyond bans on assault weapons and high-capacity clips that have garnered attention in the past. The Post said the Biden group was considering universal background checks for gun buyers and a national database to track the movement and sale of weapons.
Members of Congress have suggested a willingness to look at the issue of gun violence, but any significant changes to gun laws would be expected to encounter resistance from Republicans and many Democrats.
The NRA opposes new restrictions on gun ownership, and has proposed that one way to deal with the issue of gun violence is to put armed guards in schools.
I maintain that this is one idea that Obama will run with. A federal program to either pay for or directly employ an armed DHS stoolie in each and every school in America. Maybe more than one! Opportunities for union labor. Local intelligence about the children and what goes on in schools and insight into the parents via the kids. Thanks for that great helpful idea about the expansion of the police state, Wayne The Pierre! Once this is in place, the school will truly be a place where you prepare for prison. You graduate from school either to support the prison system, to be a guard, or to be an inmate.
White House press secretary Jay Carney at his Tuesday press breifing (yes, this is exactly how it appeared in the article when I read it) said the vice president was overseeing a process engaged with a variety of stakeholders to look at gun violence.
"They include gun owners and groups that represent gun owners," he said.
What! My militia, the Big Red None, the Zero Percent didn't get an invite?! Harrumph!

Asked specifically about what the vice president hoped to hear from the NRA, Carney stressed that the White House "doesn't want to prejudge any recommendations that any stakeholders would present."
Tranlsation; "The White House doesn't give a damn what anyone else thinks."
Carney said that the meeting was "designed to get input" from stakeholders — a sign that the administration is hoping the gun group will present their own recommendations on preventing gun violence.
Translation; The administration is hoping the gun groups will voluntarily present recommendations that align with the outcomes the administration is seeking. We might ordinarily call this "reading minds". In a totalitarian state however, reading minds is essential. Merely going along with what the state wants isn't sufficient. If you want to stay out of the Gulag, then without any prompting or "negotiating" you will have to gladly and willingly propose sacrifices of your own well above and beyond what the state intends to ask of you.
In addition to his meetings, Biden will hold conference calls with elected officials from across the country as part of his effort, the White House said.
These are for the purpose of reminding those "elected officials from across the country" that thanks to their acceptance of the Stimulus, they are now considered the Federal Government's Bitchez. You took the money and there were strings attached. You'll dance to the tune we call. Or your replacement will. No different than the Oathkeepers.
Separately, Cabinet officials will hold meetings with organizations to discuss gun-violence prevention. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will meet with education groups, parents and teachers. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will meet with mental health advocates. Other senior White House staff members will meet with medical groups, community organizations and advocates for children and families to discuss gun violence, the White House said.
"Soon after" the meetings, according to the White House, Biden will pass his task force's recommendations to Obama, who will then release a set of proposals for reducing gun violence and urge movement to enact those proposals.
Biden will tell Obama how the opposition reacted to the new reality that they will live in. This is recon for Obama as to how they receive the news and what resistance there might be to his plans. One more ping.

Our ping should be a small tactical warhead.
This is the scariest thing I ever read. Alex jones is a raving cretin - this is perfectly likely. Heil Obama!

They forgot the cook!
Good one, Aquilifer. Had to dig into the memory banks.
At the end of Red October, it is the cook-a young GRU agent who remains behind on the ship to try and scuttle it.
