I go shooting all the time: More exclusive photos

These White House people really go all out. When they want to prove the President shoots all the time, they really mean it.

Why . . . just wait, some time soon, he'll be coming to your neighborhood on the Magical Misery Tourbus to shoot at with you.

Registration - Confiscation - Extermination

I've been seeing the old Soviet poster from the early days calling on their comrades to give up their arms.

I wanted to give my touch to this as well.  I thought this poster deserved some additional attention along the lines of Bracken's thoughts on Registration, Confiscation, Extermination.

I hope you like the imagery.  But more than that, I hope it's productive for you in jolting people out of their comfort zone and into the reality of what's coming.

More on Information / Ideology

I had some other thoughts on Information / Ideology to share with you.

  1. Occasionally, an Ideologue will trot out information. Don’t believe it or trust it. Don’t examine it. Don’t accept it on it’s face. If an Ideologue brings out information (or more appropriately, “disinformation”), it is for the purpose of trying to convince you to surrender something that they haven't been able to get through sheer idolatry. Reasonable regulation for example. Who could be opposed? Fall for that just once and the regulator is in the tent.  After that, he says, "I Run This."
  2. Look for those who follow the ideologues. Those who trot out information in support of the ideals espoused by the ideologues. (Useful idiots?) "Moderates".  "Undecided voters".  "Independents".  Given the sheer math involved, the government cannot simply decree to all citizens, "turn them in."  So there's still room for a little reason before force is applied.  But on simple principle, many of us have made it abundantly clear that we will not under any circumstances surrender our property to the government.
  3. As one commenter correctly noted, the whole "left/right" dichotomy is not fully correct.  I agree.  As the length of the piece started to overwhelm me, I felt it more important to publish and discuss than to try and get it all correct in my own head.  Perhaps lean on the tribe a little and get you thinking as well.  Thanks for the feedback.
  4. Finally, I’ve waiting for the commenter that skewers me and says, “Hey, you’re ideologically driven too.” Why, yes!! We all have times where we stick with the ideology and refuse to accept something for the sake of those ideals. But the wise man (and woman) will be very careful when he approaches such times and will not lightly say, "not one step back."  He will want to be wary and certain that his ideals are right, that they are unshakable and that his conduct upholds those ideals and aligns with them. Principles/Practices.  But recognize that information and ideology, principle and practice must have some balance. There’s enough anger in America for revolt. But not enough righteousness to win. The Intolerable Acts have already been passed or proposed. However, the understanding of the true import of what they mean, of what liberty is, of what tyranny is, has not reached sufficient breadth or depth to form a critical mass.  Above all else, the tyrant wants to be very careful to prevent that critical mass from occurring.  The Information / Ideology piece (or I/I from here forward) can be an effective tool of warning for us as well.

Information / Ideology

In politics your head won't help you, nor will your education.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn - Gulag Archipelago, The Law Matures
So I happen to hear Rush say this week something along the lines of how "information and logic never matter when the debate is on guns."  ...or any other subject, I might add.

Lady Zane shares something on the interwebs with her friends.  Texts from the Declaration of Independence and such.  Even does so without much commentary.  One of her former high school buds who is a bigtime liberal questions what that even means.

I begin to explain that this is what liberals always do. Act like they don't understand what something means as a way of cheapening and minimizing it. Forcing someone else to explain what they know in advance they will mock the explanation and explainer. I start to get the eye roll from Lady Zane. I'm going too far-reading too much into it. Oh it's not that.  "Julia" is a very smart person… Precisely. Which is why the feigned ignorance holds no water.

What we have here is that it's impossible to communicate.

Our language is information. We speak and hear information. By contrast, the left speaks and hears only ideology. We might change our ideology as the facts (information) dictate. The left changes the facts as ideology dictates.

At the barbershop the other day, the Hillary show is on and he has been watching it all day. The Barber's blood pressure is up as he explains to the folks how the day has gone with her in front of the committee. How it's like the Democrats are reading from a script as they praising her and protect her. So I dropped this information/ideology bomb on them all. I think some of the folks got it, but probably not to the depth and the logical inevitable end that ensues.

A minute or so later, we're talking information again and I had to stop him, "See, there you go again. You're talking information related to this thing. You can't talk information with these people, it's always ideology."

The Second Amendment says that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.  Yet liberals consistently wring hands and question what that really means.  What was the founders' intent? What was the context?  That only covers the arms of the day.  Surely they didn't mean that criminals should have guns!?  (Uh...yeah, they did.  Or did it not occur to you that all of the founders were marked men by the British government and therefore were all considered "criminals" in the eyes of the crown?)  Surely they didn't mean that people with mental issues should have guns!  On and on with the hair-splitting arguments all designed to settle nothing while ensuring that those bitter clingers, those bourgeois folks and their outdated information are wearied of the support and that others are discouraged from joining in. When support wanes sufficiently low, then sweep up what remains and away goes the resistance.

So on the one hand, while the Second Amendment is so "hard" to discern, in other places we've conjured from thin air a Constitutional right to abortion, that the Obamacare penalty is actually a tax (even though they never presented it as a tax), that fleeing from the police is now a violent felony, if a policeman thinks he hears you disposing of evidence then it's okay for him to barge in without a warrant, and that it's okay for the City of New London to take Kelo's property under eminent domain laws. It's amazing what's in there that we didn't know about. But hey, we have to pass it so that the Supreme Court can find out what's in it.

At some point in this country, the discussion of information faded and went full-tilt towards ideology. Pick up a newspaper or watch the TV for an hour and at some point, it always goes to ideology. I'm watching the History channel one morning briefly and it's one of these virtual dogfights from WWII. Always cool. They talk about how they lined up the kills, the moves they made, the decisions they faced, etc. In this case, it was the Red Tails of 332nd Fighter Group. The Tuskegee Airmen. With about 15 minutes go to, the program swerved into how after the war, their country didn't appreciate them. "Now forget the fact that you were born two or three generations after these guys, don't you feel guilty for how these airmen were treated?" No, they didn't say that, because that would have left them with dead air time instead of 14:56 of assault on your feelings. I walked away.

When you speak of the Constitution, of the founding documents, of our founders, of the principles behind this representative Republic, about abortion, about guns, about the freedom of religion, about the Bill of Rights, about life and about liberty, you may be faced with someone who claims ignorance in an attempt to lure you into further discussion. In other words, they intend to play dumb, allow you try to "educate" them. Humor you by listening and smirking. There's a good chance that they are applying the following template:
  • Discount the message
  • Discredit the messenger
  • Distract attention (squirrel!)
  • Declare victory
Standard operating procedure for the Alinsky Communist Ideologues.

Another example might be this term du jour, "low information voters." A more honest term might be "no information voters" which almost by definition makes them ideologues.

Is this not how the left behaves when you try to bring "information" to an "ideal" fight? They make up statistics knowing that you-the poor information driven person naïf will feel duty bound to correct their information. In so doing, the information driven person is lured into the trap of wasting time trying to poke holes in made up information (also known as disinformation, lies, or BS) instead of attacking their main argument based on their own ideals. Force you to discuss a thousand effects before you ever think about a single root cause-anything to keep you away from the main thing.

Likewise, when pressed about Benghazi, what did Hillary say, "What difference does it make?"  Don't trouble me with facts.  But that's precisely the thinking being applied to Sandy Hook.  What difference does it make why the shooter did it?  We have to ban guns going forward
I encourage you to find the thing that makes the left the most uncomfortable, latch onto it, and don't let go. Get to the heart of what they're really about and hammer away.

Information without ideology is useless. If you have all the information in the world and no ideals, then the first breeze of hot air from a demagogue can topple you. Think, "undecided voters." And there's plenty of hot air coming from demagogues. (How appropriate, DEM-agogue.)

Ideology without information is idiocy. But that's precisely what we're getting in the world today from the left. They want nothing to do with information. Numbers? Debt ceilings? Math? Constitution? You're all just wreckers trying to take food from the mouths of starving children of hard working families! And you're racist bigots with Jabba the Hutt Lego castles, oversized sodas, who hate wise Latinas like Xochitl Hinojosa so shut up!

Timing is everything. Right now I'm getting into Volume 3 (finally) of the Gulag. And some tales of rebellion are being told. Some thieves and bitches are getting their asses kicked and are whining out of the cell, "the Facists are attacking us!!", when one of their cellmates, Pavel Boronyuk refuses to give up his bunk to them.  Awesome!

After reading the first two Volumes, I can tell you that it is sweet music to my ears hear some thieves and bitches getting bludgeoned. (Lee Greenwood, call your office!) One thing that AlSol points out is that after WWII, when the Soviets moved from issuing 10 year sentences to 25 year sentences, they exhausted their supply of intimidation. Those being imprisoned had nothing to lose to resist-even openly. 25 years is basically the rest of your life-especially the way that people died off in the destructive labor camps of the Soviet Union. Additionally, some who had already served their time and been released had nothing but contempt for their government and Uncle Joe's men. Perhaps it's no accident that I'm arriving at this volume at this point in time.

"The Constitution will be restored. The only question at this point is, 'How rough do we have to get to make sure that happens?'" - Bob Wright

A friend a church was mentioning guns and the gun grab and I told him and a couple of others that where this is all headed towards a civil war. (Nothing like throwing some cold hard reality to weigh down a feather light discussion.) Later, he was leaving and asked me to let him know when it was starting (still being light).

"It already has", I told him.

I offered the other day that silence was an appropriate and ominous response to this ping. Silence might be another appropriate response to the ideologues in a discussion. Give them the thousand yard stare until you bore a hole into their eye sockets. Get comfortable with silence and make them uncomfortable with it.

However, we are fast approaching the point where silence will profit nothing and nothing you say will make you more of an enemy to the state than you already are.

Part of our fear in America at present stems from the unknown. How might the bad stuff happen? (usually voiced in terms of me personally-because it's all about me.) A midnight raid? A planned road rage incident conveniently set to ensnare you? Something at your job? One of those random "license and registration" stops or "sobriety checks"? Or maybe you just disappear off the street in an NDAA black bag only to receive "rendition" later back into society where you will remain forever under suspicion from both sides and accepted by neither? Society grants more credibility to those who say they were abducted by aliens than to one who claims to have seen the orbiting helicopters!

Some still have hopes of a favorable outcome for their case and are afraid to ruin their chances by an outcry. (For after all, we get no news from that other world and we do not realize that from the very moment of arrest our fate has almost certainly been decided in the worst possible sense and we cannot possibly make it any worse.) (emphasis added)

Gulag Archipelago
Volume1, Chapter 1; Arrest
Will I get sentenced to 30 months for a malfunctioning firearm? Will I get 8 years for a magazine? Will I be shot and killed by some random person programmed by Professor Raoul X? Our police state is ever increasing the consequences and in line with AlSol's thoughts, this could be a good thing for resistance. Expanding the boundaries of the criminal class to include everyone means that we no longer have to pretend to follow a code of ethics designed by sociopaths, for sociopaths, to prevent the public from knowing their sociopathy, while continuing to fleece the public. Especially true if the most trivial crime will get you a tenner.

Proverbs 29:18 says that where there is no vision, the people perish. That word "perish" can be interpreted in a number of ways and each gives a new dimension to the truth of the verse. One translation is that they, "cast off restraint." Continuing on my earlier thoughts on the decline of the NRA, what happens when they are gone? When gun owners individually have no nice, genteel smooth talker to stand up in Washington and are left only with pretend tough guys with empty holsters. (Chuck Norris, call your office.) What happens when there's nobody claiming to carry water for us in the halls of Congress?

In 2010 I stood up at Gravelly Point, Virginia. Though the NRA HQ was literally minutes away, they didn't bother attending or supporting our insignificant rally of scary looking people with long arms and grim faces. (Even the Brady bunch sent a representative. But not the NRA!) In reading the press the next day, I learned that there was a vast gulf between us and the NRA. The NRA has already made their bed of "reasonable regulation". And in doing so, they surrendered an unbeatable argument ("shall not be infringed") for one they can never win. Like "compassionate conservatism", "reasonable regulation" has been twisted to mean whatever the left says it means. And having only once bent to the left to allowing them to help frame the discussion, the NRA is now the left's bitches for life. All that you see now in the way of "dialogue" or discussion between the NRA is simply kabuki theater playing out the inevitable defeat and overrun of a besieged position which the NRA lacks the will or ability to break out of. The outcome is determined, only the timing is uncertain. The NRA offers information, but can't repel the endless waves of ideologues and disinformation. Even their latest ad mentioning the President's children seems too little too late.

When the NRA is well and truly finished, when there is no vision-though blurry and nearsighted as it is now, some will simply cast off restraint. The discussion will be finished, the debate lost, and all that's left for the people is to send their own message. Fly solo. Or maybe work in small teams recognizing the pinch they are in. On one side, the unbearable sentence that awaits them if they are caught. On the other side, the unthinkable tyranny that awaits them if they fail. At some point, they will ultimately unite and work together. At the very least, close cooperation and coordination will ensue. (Hooray for community organization!) Those who survive their own operations will get smarter, tougher, and meaner. They will be ably led and understand the concepts necessary to success and survival. Some may devolve into gangs and that will be badness, but I guess that's what happens when people cast off restraint. But the growth of very large resistance organizations is almost inevitable in the climate that is coming. (Say…I thought the left didn't like "climate change"!?)

The same kind of pattern has been witnessed before. The Tea Party. In 2000, when Bush was elected, when the GOP held the House and the Senate, there was a golden opportunity to drive a stake in the heart of the collectivism that the Democratic Party represents. Instead, all the advantage that they had and every bit of capital was invested in just a few things:
  • Protecting W
  • Iraq and Afghanistan
  • The expansion of the police state
  • Delaying the inevitable economic contraction
Having squandered so much and achieved so little, the left returned like a cancer relapse to metastasize and take control of all three branches of government by 2008. The return of the left and the ineptitude, incompetence, and/or outright collaboration by the GOP led to the idea of the Tea Party which briefly energized America. But then what?

The Tea Party is finding out that you can't fight ideology with information. You can't fight feeling with facts. Oh, and the Tea Party has found out that they have to first overcome their own "friends" in the GOP to receive the privilege of addressing their opposition on the left. (Think Mike Castle in Delaware.) Wearied and frustrated by their own inability to advance the line of scrimmage, and the time and resources consumed with trying to overcome the GOP, the Tea Party too will decline.

We've been here as a country at least one other time as well. 1775. The colonists had petitioned the crown good and plenty and been ignored. The patent unfairness of the acts passed by Parliament and the petitions sent back across the oceans fell on deaf ears. And so on April 19, the discussions just stopped. All that was left was the bold Declaration of Independence and the inevitable bloody fight that was to come. When the discussion stops, all that's left is the divorce. If Congress could just do one productive thing this term it might be this: build a mass gallows of 200 or more ropes right there on the capitol lawn in Washington. Regardless of the outcome, we're going to need it. The ideologues can't tolerate an armed, educated, defiant remnant capable of cutting and slashing at their Utopian schemes at every opportunity. In like manner, free men and freedom itself cannot leave remnants of tyranny standing if we're to secure liberty for ourselves and our posterity.

Remember, for us, feelings follow facts. For our opponent, facts must be adjusted to fit their feelings. What this means in practical terms is that there is no honest discussion of either fact or feeling with the ideologue. It's There is no compromise or understanding possible with the fact-immune. The ideologue only listens because he's looking for a way to:
  • Discount the message
  • Discredit the messenger
  • Distract attention (squirrel!)
  • Declare victory
So where does that leave us?

Beck:
All politics in this country now is just dress rehearsal for civil war.

CA:
We're screwed
There's going to be a fight
Let's win

AP:
Resist.

Zane:
Tyranny Is Cancer

Some of the saddest days in the world to me have come watching people celebrate being "cancer free" after the first big rounds of chemo and radiation. Then watching their hope and life drain when it shows up again and their grief is greater than when they got the initial diagnosis.

There is no way to reason with cancer, to have a discussion with cancer, or to have an honest debate with cancer. America, it's time to take our medicine, get cancer free, and set a watch for the inevitable relapse.

Feinstein Opens Gun Control Presser with Prayer

Story here.

Like abortion, gun control is sacrament to the left.  Not that Feinstein has a 100% rating from NARAL or anything . . .  Interesting too that a woman who is against prayer in public schools thinks it's okay for her to use it.

(Hey wait, shouldn't I sue them for violating the separation of church and state?  Because as we all know anything that the church communicates to or through the state must be imposing their morality on me and therefore make them evil waaaaacist Nazis like Hitler with multiple exclamation points!!!!!!)

I'm reminded of the cafe scene between Dr. Jones and Belloq in The Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Where Belloq boasts about the Ark being a radio transmitter to God.  Jones then says, "You want to talk to God? Let's go see him together, I've got nothing better to do."

But I think this scene is even more appropriate:

The Very Rev. Gary Hall opens up Sen. Feinstein's gun grab campaign with a prayer.

To recycle a quote:

"There goes one who has called on gods he does not believe in. How will it be with him if they have really come?" - Farsight, The Last Battle by CS Lewis

Perhaps they realize that to press forward is almost certainly going to lead to them sending a whole lot of people to see God.  I suppose it's appropriate for them to consider invoking a deity at this point.  And it's actually kind of liberating.

If they want to invoke the name, the power, and might of my God for the purpose of taking my liberty, my property, and my life, then they invite and willingly welcome God's judgment upon themselves for the plans they have made, the way in which they are carried out, and the outcome.    It seems to me that it would have gone better for them to have been ignorant of God than to try and acknowledge Him so as to frame up all the evil they have in store as simply being the logical execution of His will.

China preparing for war

As seen at Silicon Graybeard via WRSA.

Why would China think that they could get away with such naked aggression?

Allow me to save 1000 words.

A Sunday School lesson

Apologies for the lapse over the weekend.  Went with the youth of our church group to a conference over the weekend and they wiped me out!  I prepared this for a Sunday School class a while back.  Thought I'd unload it here to let it work in your life.

Call this one, "Math".  Remember that this was written in the context of a Sunday School class and for that audience.
____________

How many righteous people does it take to put the wicked to flight?
How many righteous people does it take to hold back God’s wrath?

Leviticus 26:3-12
3. ‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them,
4. then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
5. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
6. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land.
7. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you.
8. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.
9. ‘For I will look on you favorably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you.
10. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new.
11. I will set My tabernacle among you, and My soul shall not abhor you.
12. I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.

Five shall chase 100. How many times does 5 go into 100? 20.

Romans 8
[31] What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Psalms 27
[1] The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
[2] When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
[3] Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
[4] One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.
[5] For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
[6] And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

So then what do we have to be afraid of?

If they bring 10 wicked people against you, then what do you say? You’re gonna have to go back and get some more goons.
_______________

I couldn't do this with the class, but I can do it with my readers, here's a clip from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian to illustrate:

Lord Sopespian has finished off King Miraz.  Thus, the usurper is himself usurped.  Aslan has awakened all of Narnia to join the battle and what at one point looked like a rout for the Telmarines is suddenly going very badly for them.  General Glozelle suggests that they can defeat the Narnians if they draw them to the river.  So it's off to Beruna.  Except.... Queen Lucy holds the other side of the bridge by herself and draws her dagger.  Come at me, bro!  Think of the folly here.  What in the world are the Telmarines thinking?  They see Lucy and pull up in fright at what they see.  One little girl with a dagger.  So they look back at the army behind them, then back at Lucy and . . . this Lion walking up beside her.  The order to charge is given.

Think about the timing here.  When does Aslan appear?  Aslan appears only after Lucy has already stepped out alone in faith.  Could it be that God is waiting for us to step out before he shows off?  Could it be that God requires us to step out before he can show off?  When did Lord Sopespian first pull up?  When he saw Lucy alone.

What does God tell us to do in Leviticus?

walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them

Our problem is not summoning sufficient courage. Our problem is sufficient commitment to submit to God’s commands. Our problem is not that we’re afraid, our problem is that we’re ashamed. We don’t walk in His word like we should. And the result is that we’re often a shell of what we should be in this world for Him.

Note the math here. 5 righteous people can put 100 to flight. That’s 20:1. So when 100 righteous people get together, their power is multiplied. Instead of meeting the wicked at a 20:1 ratio, they trade at 100:1. (It's not part of the Sunday School lesson here, but that's the same ratio of gun owners to police that is ALREADY IN OUR FAVOR.)

The Bible is filled with stories like this scene from Prince Caspian where a faithful few overwhelmed a multitude of the wicked.

Judges 7
[1] Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
[2] And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

We don’t need 16 million Christians to suddenly rise up. We hardly know our own neighbors-let alone other 16 million other people. If God delivers you a victory, he wants to do it in such a way that it is unmistakably God’s work. Such that you know it’s Him and nobody else doing it. Give GOD the credit, the glory, the honor.

[3] Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.
[4] And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.
[5] So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.
[6] And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.
[7] And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.
[8] So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
[9] And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.
[10] But if thou fear to go down, go thou with Phurah thy servant down to the host:
[11] And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thine hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.
[12] And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

How many did Gideon start with?  22,000.  How many did he end up with?  300.  With just 300, Gideon was able to overwhelm an innumerable multitude. Remember the math, 100:10,000. That’s 100 squared. God believes in the addition of the converts and multiplication of the faithful.

All that has to do with God taking out his wrath on the wicked. What about his grace?  How does the math work out for staying God's wrath and providing grace instead?

Genesis 18:
[23] And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
[24] Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
[25] That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
[26] And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
[27] And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes:
[28] Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.
[29] And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for forty's sake.
[30] And he said unto him, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there.
[31] And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: Peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for twenty's sake.
[32] And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake.
[33] And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place.

Abraham first asked about 50 righteous people.  Then talked all the way down to 10.  For the sake of only 10 righteous people, God would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah.

Why did Abraham stop negotiating at 10?  His brother Lot lived there and surely there would be 10 righteous people in his house.  Riiiight?  Nope.

I wonder what America’s magic number is?
____________

We can’t accomplish God’s will in our own unrighteousness.

The righteousness of our founders, their dependence upon God is the reason why they were able to stand with such boldness.  Oh sure, there were allies, but how many allies would the rebellious colonists have found had they not been so bold and determined?

I've said it before, America has enough anger to revolt, but not yet enough righteousness to win.  I believe that this personal righteousness is the horse that pulls the cart.  If we revolt without being right, we're doomed.

Obama first two-term president to take oath of office four times

Story here.

Now that's funny right there.  So when Obama assumes his third and fourth terms of office, he's already covered by the additional swearings right?

So I guess that makes him a four-time oath breaker?  A four flusher!

A draft letter for your Pastor

Here's something I drafted up which you may feel free to share with your pastor regarding the gun grab.  Feel free to cut, paste, adjust, print it off, send it, or share it directly with your pastor.  Fair warning, I've not done a thorough proofread-you just can't proof your own work.  If I goofed something, let me know.  Edits welcome.  I'm tired and still have stuff to do that isn't on this keyboard so it's as complete and coherent as I can do.

Mark closely what answer you get.  I know I will.
_______________

When do you intend to declare where you stand on this gun grab issue?

The simple fact is that those people in Washington intend to take away firearms from every American. Regardless of which path they choose, it’s a declaration of war against America by this Government.

You have firearms owners within this congregation. Lots of them. You have law enforcement in this congregation.

If this whole thing proceeds forward, then everyone will have to choose where they stand. Those who wear a badge will have to choose whether to honor their oaths or obey their orders. People like me will have to decide when, where, and against whom we fight and whether to play defense or go on offense.

As the pastor you have the unenviable task of being the undershepherd to this church and delivering God’s word. You have to take a stand and speak what you think is true and right whether anyone supports you or not. But as the leader, you do not have the luxury to just wait and see.

We are headed towards a showdown about restrictions on government and the rights of the people. About who’s in charge and who is the servant. About whether government is our servant or our master. About whether we’re citizens or subjects. And these are truly talking irreconcilable viewpoints here. There is no middle ground where we should be compelled to accept partial slavery here. There is no middle ground where we should be compelled to accept a little more tyranny. If there were, then we should all be British subjects and the founders would have all swung from the gallows.

History has shown us many times how this works for tyrants. Registration, Confiscation, Extermination. It happened to the Armenians in Turkey. It happened to the Jews in Germany. It happened to the Russians after the Bolsheviks took over. In the last century alone, more than 170 million people are estimated to have been slaughtered not in war or by simple crime, but by a comprehensive and coordinated policy of their government. To think that it cannot happen here is folly. It is beginning here. Again.

In 1775, General Thomas Gage sent out parties to confiscate war-making materials from the colonists. Muskets, ball, cap, cannons, and powder were to be taken. This worked once, but it helped to create the Powder Alarm and ultimately the alarm system. When Gage sent his troops out on the night of April 18th towards Lexington and Concord, the alarm system sprung into action. Instead of meeting sleepy villagers climbing out of their hut surprised at the approach of the army, they met determined men in formation, armed, and ready. The problem was that it was not merely Lexington and Concord that were awakened. The entire countryside was buzzing. As the British moved to meet the men of Lexington and Concord, they didn’t just face armed men in formation, they soon found themselves being watched from behind as other units arrived from surrounding villages. So it wasn’t a matter of the muskets that they faced, it was a matter of all the muskets that faced them. If necessary, this will all happen again.

Our founding fathers recognized tyranny for what it was because of the power with which their preachers delivered the word of God as it pertained to liberty. More than anything else, this is why the American Revolution succeeded. America today is angry enough to spit nails. But we haven’t got a mustard seed of the righteousness of our founders. Put another way, had we the righteousness of our founders, America would have long since revolted.

I think it’s time that the preachers of this country return to the idea of boldly preaching liberty according to God’s word, rather than a 501(c) compliant (i.e state approved) message that interprets Romans 13 to mean eternal subjection to the whim of the state and the rulers appointed over us. If that were the case, then would it not mean that every martyr for Christ DESERVED every lash of the whip that they received for violating the laws of the ruler appointed over them? Would that not mean that they sinned in violating man's laws to obey God's laws? Would that then imply that we are free to live out the word of God only where we are allowed by the laws of man?  I believe that had pastors and priests remained true to the ideal of liberty preached to our forefathers throughout the last two centuries we would not be in the awful state we’re in. But I recognize my own shortcoming here as well. Jesus called us sheep for a reason and he was right on the money.  We stray.

We live in a representative republic that our founders risked their all to create. And many of them indeed did lose their all. They addressed the King’s policies and that didn’t work. They addressed the King’s property and that didn’t work. Finally they addressed the King’s men and there was no way to ignore their grievance. If we really believe that we’re so free, if we really believe that God blessed America to be so unique and special, if we believe that we’re this shining city on a hill in this world, if we believe all that we hear preached about the greatness of America today, then the reality of the founding of this country must be faced.

Our forefathers were not American citizens. They were British subjects who revolted against the legal and rightful authority of the British crown. The fact that this authority was tyrannical is irrelevant-they revolted. They broke the windows. They destroyed the King’s property. They tarred and feathered his men. They took up arms in formation and faced off against his soldiers that night in Lexington and Concord. And they prevailed.

Now for the catch, if we really believe all that we preach about America’s greatness, how God has blessed us, then we approve of the right of the founders to revolt against the rulers appointed over them. And if it is acceptable for those men to resist, to refuse to comply, to revolt in their day, in accordance with God’s word for the sake of liberty, then it must also be acceptable for men to do so today. If not, you have the opportunity to explain why before any of them do.

If it’s not acceptable for men to revolt against tyranny for the sake of liberty according to God’s word today, then it wasn’t acceptable then either. And if that’s the case, then we are duty bound to apologize to the British, pay them reparations, and then willingly surrender and submit ourselves to be subjects of whatever authority appears in our own land without regard to the evil that they perpetrate upon the people, the property, and the liberty of the nation which was bought by the blood of free men. If it is not acceptable for men to revolt against tyranny, then we should surrender today to try and negotiate for better terms. We should agree with the enemies of liberty that the Articles of Confederation, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, our Declaration of Independence are all meaningless. We should negotiate today for whatever rights our government will allow us to have, which bunk we will have, how many ounces of gruel, and how many cubic yards of copper ore we must dig per day in the Gulag.

It’s either right or it’s not.

There’s a well documented case for why the founders did what they did. They wrote this down for us so that we would not be ignorant as to where we came from as a nation. They wrote it down so that we would understand that we did not come from a raucous mob that simply got angry and started a war. We came from men who depended upon God’s leading in their endeavor for liberty and who believed that they were simply obeying God’s will. All of those founding documents are still as applicable today as when they were written. They still mean today what they meant when they were written. Those founding documents are either completely true and still valid, or they are completely false and invalid. In this regard, they are no different than the Bible. If you can prove any piece of the Bible to be false, then the whole thing is false. We are either free men or we are slaves. There is no middle ground.

The same people who seek to take guns away from the law-abiding are the same people who walked guns across the Mexican border into the hands of the lawless.  I would say that you could ask Brian Terry or Jamie Zapata, but they're both dead.  Killed with weapons that our government handed to drug cartels.  With that alone in mind, this whole gun control debate isn’t about guns. It’s about control.

Who is going to control America? Who is going to be in control? Government and criminals (sorry to be redundant there) or free men?  Will we willingly yield ourselves up to be the serfs of a tyrant having once been free? God forbid. Will we take arms and immediately commence firing against the tyrant and his men without first addressing the policies and the property before turning all attention towards the tyrant’s men?

What are we going to pass on to our children, Liberty or Slavery? More directly, what are you going to preach on this subject?

Let me take it a step further, pastor.  Allow me to point towards the funerals that you will have to preach and widows and families that you will have to console. It may be funerals for free men who died trying to remain free and preserve this for their posterity. It may be funerals for servants of the government who decided to obey their orders instead of honoring their oath. You have both in your congregation.

On a personal note, seeing the boldness of our foes, the lack of genuine opposition in our government, the lack of allies around me, and the fear struck into the hearts of free men, I fully expect to be either dead, in prison, or kidnapped in a black bag operation (made "legal" by the 2012 NDAA) where I’ll have no contact and you’ll only know I’ve disappeared. In any case, my voice will decrease and the government's volume will increase. And they will spread all manner of slander and calumny about me in every outlet they can find so as to justify their own actions.  Live or die, my life as I’ve known it will be over and you'll know that every word I've written here is true.

So let me offer you some thoughts for how I’d like my funeral to go.

Preach the following:

1. The gospel.
2. Liberty and resistance to tyranny.
3. I presume that I will die resisting. Preach it. If I go out resisting, I’ll leave with a smile because I went with my boots on and can rest unashamed.
4. Justice against those who did it. Plead the case of the widows and fatherless.
5. Victory.

For the record, if I did resist unto death, then there's a good chance that I sent some of the tyrant's men onward ahead of me. There's no joy in killing.  There's no glory there except in weakening the aggressor team for other resistors who shall eventually prevail by God’s grace.  If I am wrong about all this, then I'm just a murderer.  If I'm right though, then I hope you can preach it as I've outlined it.

I ask you to carefully and prayerfully consider what I've written. I welcome your response.

Gage on Math

Speaking of math, someone out there may have the answer to this question:

In countries where gun confiscation was carried out, what was the ratio of the people who demanded that the populace surrender their arms to the gun owners?

Put simply, Goons:Gun Owners, what were the ratios within each country?

Without even looking, my gut tells me that the gun owners outnumbered the goons by a wide margin.  And if that's so, then why in the world would a gun grab succeed?

Fear and isolation.

Fear of what Leviathan can do to you.  Isolation from like-minded individuals.

If the gun owners so outnumber the goons, then why in the world would they think that they could win?

Parallel to that, how in the world could so many gun owners PERMIT the tyrant to win?  Patriot you'd better tuck that one into your heart and mind for a while and think about it.  If this many gun owners can't overcome this few goons, then what hope does liberty have anywhere on this earth?

I want to clarify what I've said regarding "silence."  Silence can be an effective response to the tyrant.  Someone with some combat experience back me up here, do you talk a lot on the radio just before an attack?  Or do you go to a Silent Running mode?

Communication with friends is another matter.  Perhaps you less (or no) typing and more talking.  Less (or no) phone and more face to face.

Hebrews 10 says this
[24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

[25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Why...it sounds like what we've telling each other since the de-election and Sandy Hook.

What day?  THE Day.  The Last Day.

Why would the Bible tell Christians to provoke each other to good works, to exhort each other, to not forsake the assembling of believers?  Because they should redeem the time for the days are evil (Eph 5:16).  Because they will need to encourage and strengthen each other.  To watch each others' backs.  To guard each others' flanks.  As The Day approaches, Christians will be looking over at giants that they know in their own strength they cannot overcome.  If it were not so, then they would have no need to put their faith and total dependence in God.

In the same way, we are approaching the last days of liberty.  We need to provoke each other to good works, to exhort each other, to not forsake the assembling of believers.  Redeem the time for the days are evil.  Watch each others' backs.  Guard each others' flanks.  Communicate.  I'm not going to go wild with optimism here, but defeatism won't get us to victory.  (Believe me, I know a thing or two about feeling defeated and wallowing in defeatism.)

I hope that this helps anybody who may be struggling with how to approach this.

As always, the Gage posters are for circulation far and wide.

Sheriffs, state lawmakers push back on gun control

Sheriffs, state lawmakers push back on gun control

Let’s see. The Federal Government sued the State of Arizona claiming that they were trying to do the job of the Federal Government.

I say if Leviathan wants to pass a great big honkin AWB, then let them enforce it.

But why stop there? Stop the flow of cash to Washington. And stop the inflow of cash from Washington.

Gasp!

But then some states wouldn’t be able to feed and house those who refuse to work!
And?

Some roads might not get paved!
If you saw I-459 around here, you’d wonder when was the last time that it was paved.

What about our schools!?  You’re wanting to take food from the mouths of school children.
Is the school there to be a training center for homeless shelters-thereby indoctrinating children in the expectation that they will be fed for free wherever they go?  Oh wait.  It is.  A solution will present itself.

But if one state refuses federal funds, then another state will snatch those up!
So if you were addicted to meth, you wouldn't quit because then that would mean more for someone else.

It is the junkie habit and utter dependence on federal dollars (like the Stimulus BS) by the states over so many decades that got us into this mess in the first place.  Practice Independence.

Others wiser than I have addressed the issue of state secession which is the direction that this would ultimately have to go in order to succeed.  I'll let them run with that ball.
The fact is that this habit will be broken one way or another.

  • We could wean ourselves off.  This won’t be easy.  It won’t be quick.  It won’t be painless.  And it may be a lonely road.  After all, who would turn down all that free sugar!?
  • Or we could wait until the supply of Obamacash from the Obamastash all up in Uncle Sugartown runs dry.  At which point the detox will be hideous, painful, and destructive.  But the good news is that many other states will be in the throes of the same detox so there's company in that misery.
________

I have another idea about Sheriffs and legislators pushing back.

A buddy of mine sent me a letter from the Sherriff in Johnson, County, MO(Disclaimer: I don't FB so I don't know what else is posted there.  I assume it's the text of the open letter to Hussein that I read.)

I have these thoughts to share:
In line with my One Ping Only post from the other day, I wonder if this administration isn’t simply sending out the Ping for intel gathering-a last check of range and bearing to target.  This might be especially true once you consider the scope of the Executive Orders that were signed.  After all the build up and hype, it seems like a real letdown.  Bluster by Hussein?  BS?  Or was it?

Tracers point both ways.
TL Davis is right, the Oathkeepers in law enforcement need to stand up now.  The flip side of that is that letters like this one from the Sheriff tell the tyrant the character and spine of those who will stand up.  What is it that they articulate?  What is the basis for their rights and for their resistance?  Do they talk about "reasonable regulation"?  Common sense?  What are the limits of their resistance articulated?  Which ideals are they trying to stand upon and protect?  Are there any that can be arrested or pinched immediately for their response?  Which ones can we bully or buy off?  Which are compromised through some corruption or criminal activity?  Which are the ones that I really have to fight?  What are my local assets in those areas where I have "trouble" with the local LEO?  (That includes the federales in those areas as well as the ACORNs and SSEIU thugnuts.)  Do I need to reassign some folks to better offset those Sheriffs?

Someone smart out there once said to watch the other hand.

If I'm the tyrant pushing all this, I want to know who I really need to be afraid of. Whose ass to kick. I mean, you never want to let a crisis go to waste which means that you want it to be sufficiently big to be noticed and important to solve. But you sure as hell don't want to take on a crisis so big that it has a real chance of sinking you.

We've been threatened with the criminalization of almost every gun and accessory imaginable.  With that in mind, the EOs are almost a relief in what they didn't say.  DiFi said that if she could get 51 votes, she'd grab them all.  Well, I guess that means she's never had 51 votes for that, right?

Even Harry Frickin' Reid says that this AWB idea is probably not going to happen.  That could just be him trying to play "good cop" to Obama's "bad cop" or he could be straight up here.

So then what the hell is all this panic about on our side?  Because the left incited it, fed it, encouraged it, and is seeking to profit from it.

Let's bring it to a head: You remember how when the 23 EOs came out, you had that vague sense of mild relief instead of boiling rage?  That vague sense of mild relief is precisely what they want you to feel when Congress passes whatever it can pass regarding guns in the near future.  Not action, but inaction.  Disagreement, but compliance without being disagreeable.

So as you receive the multitude of calls begging you to sign this petition or that petition, to write your own open letter to King Barack remember, silent running is an option.

There is many a man who picked up a musket to fight and kill for the freedom of this land who never wrote a letter to Parliament.  His sacrifice is no less than that of those who signed the Declaration of Independence.  In defeat, his punishment would have been no less.  In victory, the signers reward would have been no more.  (In many cases we know this to be true.)

Keep the powder dry, the rifle clean, and take care of business.  There's work to do.

Say...that sounds like a good song or something!

Cult of Personality

I thought it was time to update this tremendous song by Living Colour with our current Cult of Personality.

I'm glad I didn't look on the YouTubes first because I'm only about the 14th guy who's already had this idea.

My hope is that my version is at least 4587 times awesomer than the rest of them put together. Of course if that happens, then I may wind up like this guy:

Not Optimal, bro!
Get your speakers turned up and enjoy.

Manti-Myth

So, let me get this straight.  Manti Teo's girlfriend (who supposedly died right after his grandmother and on the eve of a big game) doesn't even exist.  And he's all the victim of some big hoax.

Unexpectedly!

The press created the myth of Manti and built it up to Heisman proportions.  Now being duped, some of them are trying to find a villain to turn their attention to.  Hint: Find a mirror guys.

Why...this sounds like some other great big myth that was pumped up to epic proportions which wasn't exposed until the very moment that it all collapsed.

Joseph V. Paterno: Unperson.

Too Big To Fail

The story here isn't the hoax, but that the press fell for it, promoted it, and never questioned it.  It doesn't seem like there would be a lot of effort required to have broken this story open during the season.  Why is this relevant to the ideal of liberty?  Because journ-o-lists aren't much different whatever they're covering.  You won't see this happen often in politics-especially not in Washington.  So this is a rare chance to see the journ-o-lists exposed for what they are.

Wrap-up of today 1/16/13

I have a few things to post and will wrap these into one post to save time and hassle.  Besides, it's all connected anyway.
___________________

I know this isn't the only example-or even the first one, but the story is here.

Out of bullets.  Dang!  At least I still have my stare and my fist
How will this be resolved?  Thought you'd never ask:

Oh, you’re running out of ammo, mister local police chief?  Well that sure is a shame. Hey, we've got plenty.  You need some?  Sure, we’ll be glad to sign you over a few thousand rounds.  All you need to do is agree to these terms of usage (i.e. leash and collar) and we’ll be sure to send it to you. Yours truly, Uncle Sugar.

PS, You can thank us with your compliance/submission as we deem appropriate.

And just in case police haven’t run out of bullets?  There’s that whole dollar collapse and mass rioting thing that will follow.  I'm sure just a short “beer summit” will help the local police understand their place in the new order.

Go Team!

h/t to Instapundit.  This is an outstanding summary of what is really happening with the Executive Orders today.  His sentiments on this mirror my own.

Strangely, there's one missing.

Oh wait, that too was a feature, not a flaw.

White House releases letters from kids pleading for gun control.  Story here.

Meanwhile, Marines in Benghazi are still waiting for the order to be allowed to use their guns to protect Ambassador Stephens.

Feature.  Not a flaw.  At least he wasn't killed by gun violence!

General Carter Ham.  Relieved of command within 30 seconds for attempting to send help to Benghazi.
_______________

And finally we have Hussein and the Human Shields as he signs his 23 executive orders.

Uncle Joe: This is a BFD, SMILE you little bastard or we'll go play "tickle monster."

I can't help but notice the perfect quota diversity here.  One white male, one white female, one black male, and one "other" race.  Oh, and just one adult behind each child-presumably a parental unit.  Why, it's like a composite of Julias.  I wonder how long it will be until one of them dies at the hands of the next mass murderer programmed and sent by their own Professor Raoul X?

If you haven't noticed, I keep hitting Bracken's Professor Raoul X.  You should as well.  Look, they've already created one program that would result in deaths for the sake of gun control (Gunwalker).  And since after the first one, all the rest are free, why should a bunch of little kids matter if the desired outcome can be achieved?

By the way, "Hussein and the Human Shields" would be a great name for a kick-ass, face melting rock band.

From a friend in West Virginia

Reposted verbatim from a friend in West Virgina
__________________

Ladies and gentlemen of the WVCDL and West Virginia. Today, around 3PM I met with Senator Manchin. In any conversation with a person of that level of power, there are two conversations that occur at once. The first is the obvious and direct meaning of what is spoken. The second conversation is the meaning between the lines. In this case, neither is good. West Virginia, in my opinion, you have been sold out.

First, let's talk about the direct conversation. It's very simple. Senator Manchin supports a three-pronged approach that includes universal background checks, including private sales. He supports mental health-care reform. And he supports magazine capacity limits, and possibly other restrictions.

Further, he stated to me directly, that he believes 75% of West Virginians, like him, believe that the only purposes behind gun ownership and the second amendment are hunting and recreational shooting. He told me that defense is not an angle he considers or believes in, and that is specifically in the context of defense of self, and defense from tyranny. Perhaps now you understand why I've been too angry to update you on the results of the meeting. In case you're thinking of stopping here, it gets worse.

Senator Manchin told me what the media will do if Congress (including the US House of Representatives) fails to pass an AWB and/or mag restrictions. "They will one, by one, put up pictures of dead children. They will show the carnage." Considering that tomorrow, President Obama will be exploiting children by dragging them on stage with him while he outlays his plan, this is not a huge leap. And these are the words of a United States senator. We, and I don't mean just West Virginians, I mean Americans, must prepare for this. That is a direct quote. Verbatim. We need every talking head in the conservative media out in front of this. Make it happen. Share this post far and wide.

When it became clear that we were not going to find common ground, and that Senator Manchin intends to support magazine capacity limits and other pointless gun-control laws doomed to failure, I told the senator that we would be there. We would be at every single event. We would be at every fund-raiser. We would be there, and the content of our signs would not be pleasant.

And now we get to the second conversation. The one between the lines. When I said we would be there, he said, "there won't be any events."

This confused me. No politician runs for office without fund-raisers and events. And I have to admit, it wasn't I that grasped the meaning of this. I want to be clear, that the following was not stated. This was deduced by a confidant of mine, and I think she is correct. Manchin was honest. There will be no events. Why would a US Senator not need funds? This is because there will be no campaign. Joe Manchin is too young to retire from a position of such power. What does that mean?

West Virginia, this means that Joe Manchin has sold you out. It means that he has accepted some position, likely promised by Barack Obama, to place his boot in your neck in exchange for power.

Sometimes tyrants have to buy the votes they need.  But hey, that's no problem when they have an endless supply of your money . . . right?  Yeah, I know, the money isn't endless.  But the dollar just needs to last long enough for them to buy off these last few votes.

Look for this theme to be oft repeated in the coming weeks.

Lee Greenwood, call your office.

Obama plans to surround himself with children during gun control announcement

Obama plans to surround himself with children human shields during gun control announcement

Just another Hussein surrounding himself with children

I can hear it now.  Gasp! How could you compare this dictator named Hussein to a democratically elected President?

Because contrasting them requires there to be an actual difference.

Besides, in his last Presidential campaign, President Hussein got 100% of the vote!  Now THAT'S Democracy right there!

I was doodling around on the subject of human shields and found this:

CIA report from Iraq on Human Shields

(Disclaimer, yeah, I know it's a link to Leviathan and they'll be analyzing their web traffic to see where people are coming in from and all that.  I'll just give you the part that jumped out at me)
…often uses such civilian installations as residences and schools as alternate command and control facilities during periods of heightened tensions, and Hussein frequently commandeers private apartments or homes in densely populated areas for his personal use during a crisis. Although it is unclear whether civilians are permitted to remain in commandeered facilities, Hussein presumably uses this tactic because he believes that Coalition forces would not target such facilities for attack.

Naw…doesn’t sound like anybody that we know of…

Here's a photo from the CIA page:

Military revetments near a school.  Interesting.

So…would putting more military…I mean police-sorry, what in the WORLD could I be thinking?  Would putting more police into schools mean that they are simply using schools and the children as human shields? Or would it simply mean that the increased police presence is there to ensure that students know that they are “safe”?

As a young lad we moved a couple of times and the worst was when I was 10. At my previous school in smalltown, there were simply tall bushes around the school on two sides (and a couple of little openings that kids had made through the years). On the third side was a street and a private home. On the fourth was the parking lot and a creek. Can’t tell you how many times I played in that creek before school or after and walked around soggy for my clumsiness.
